Pink Tutu Rome: Ciao Bella! (Post #278)

Buongiorno from Rome, darling! 🩰 The air is electric, buzzing with history and excitement. It's like a giant open-air stage set for life itself. The colours, the scents, the sounds, they're all a feast for the senses and frankly, it's positively intoxicating.

Rome is just SO dramatic, and I don't just mean the Colosseum! Everything's larger than life, grander, more captivating. The Romans truly knew how to live, they built monuments to themselves that speak volumes about their passion for beauty and power. You know, I'm starting to think I've stumbled onto a very stylish, ancient ballet set!

This week, I've been swept up in the romantic whirl of this timeless city. I've taken in the grandeur of the Pantheon (you know, I wouldn't be surprised if it was originally a dance hall, it's just so spacious and breathtaking!) and marveled at the perfectly sculpted statues of the Capitoline Museums, thinking how elegant they’d look with a bit of tulle. (My mind can be quite creative, sometimes!)

And the Trevi Fountain, oh my! Those majestic statues, all sculpted with the utmost finesse, really are works of art. I practically skipped to the edge, took a coin out of my purse, and tossed it over my shoulder - wishing upon a star for more amazing trips like this! 💫

But darling, it's not all about ancient history and magnificent buildings, even if it’s rather heavenly to dance around them! The shopping in Rome is quite simply, exquisite. I could spend hours in the high-end boutiques, surrounded by such fabulous fashion! 🛍 Every street corner here feels like a catwalk, a perfect excuse to let loose and strut my stuff in a daring outfit, even if it's just down the street to grab a delicious espresso at the local cafe. (This, of course, always comes with a pink tutu - wouldn’t be me without it, right?)

Last night, I had a delightful treat - a live ballet performance right here in the heart of Rome, set against the backdrop of a magical historical villa. The sheer artistry of the dancers was breathtaking. And I’m just giddy at how the moonlight poured through the trees, making it feel like the ultimate fairy tale. (It had the whole “sleeping beauty” vibe about it - just minus the cursed prick of a finger.) 🌳 ✨

Speaking of performances, let's talk about how I got here! As a passionate performer myself, the way I fund these exciting trips around the world might just surprise you. It's all thanks to my lovely pink tutu, my incredible dancers, and my dedication to ballet. (Think of it like a travelling dance troupe, only way more stylish.) Every week I have a different performance scheduled, be it a theatre, an event, or even a ballet class in a lovely community hall back home in Derbyshire, which allows me to step onto new stages around the world!

My adventures here in Rome aren't over, darlings, so make sure you keep checking back for next Wednesday's blog post! I have many more sights and surprises planned for you. (Maybe even a cheeky tour of a delicious Italian gelato shop! You know, the perfect combination of sugar and chic! 💖🍦).

Until then, let’s embrace the magic of pink and travel. I’m already picturing the Eiffel Tower decked out in pink tulle! Can you even imagine how divine that would be? I bet Paris will have no choice but to follow my lead… because let's face it, darling, everyone looks better in a pink tutu!

Ciao for now, Emma
