Pink Tutu Rome #279: The Eternal City & My Eternal Love for Pink
Hello my gorgeous darlings! It's Wednesday again, and you know what that means! Time for another Pink Tutu Rome adventure! Today I'm swirling around the cobbled streets of this beautiful city, feeling every bit like a princess in my favourite pink tutu (because let's be honest, every day is a fairy tale when you're in Rome).
It's been a whirlwind week in this enchanting place, filled with historical wonders, stunning art, and enough gelato to satisfy even the most hardcore sweet tooth. This trip, as always, was funded by my ballet performances, a perfect example of how you can pursue your dreams whilst dancing your heart out!
This Wednesday I'm wearing my new pink floral tulle tutu - I had to buy it the minute I saw it in a shop here. It was practically screaming my name, what could I do? It’s definitely going to be a staple in my wardrobe (I mean, is there anything more divine than a tutu that combines floral elegance and pink perfection?)
Today I woke up early, excited for a day of discovery and adventure. It's almost comical how passionate I am about trains - the rhythmic chugging of the engine and the mesmerizing view from the window truly soothe my soul. Today's journey led me to Trajan's Market - a hidden gem just a short walk from the Forum, and, oh my, it was breathtaking! These ancient Roman ruins, bustling with life centuries ago, took my breath away with their majesty. You could almost feel the echoes of history whispering through the centuries.
After that historical extravaganza, it was time to embrace some modern glamour! You know how much I adore Italian fashion. A beautiful* Valentino boutique* caught my eye, and let's just say I couldn't leave empty-handed. A divine silk scarf, the colour of a blooming rose, and a dazzling pair of silver earrings with a hint of pink (naturally!), are now my cherished souvenirs.
In the evening, I'm indulging in another one of Rome's magnificent offerings - an opera at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma. I've been wanting to see La Traviata ever since I first fell in love with opera. It's one of those stories that touches your soul, reminding us of the raw beauty and heartbreak in life. The costumes are magnificent, the music truly divine. I can't wait to lose myself in this enchanting world of drama and passion.
Of course, no day in Rome is complete without a dose of gelato. I just can't resist its creamy goodness, and the way it melts like sunshine on my tongue. A generous scoop of strawberry and hazelnut gelato from the legendary Gelateria del Teatro, perfectly topped with whipped cream and a sprinkle of pink candy hearts. Life is truly perfect.
My Pink Tutu Rome Tip of the Week: Embrace the chaos and beauty of Roman traffic. It’s truly an experience you’ll never forget. If you want to see this iconic city like a local, step onto a tram or a bus and see where it takes you. Remember, embrace the adventure!
Now, if you’re thinking about how you could possibly be missing this pink tutu dream, I say embrace the opportunity and book a trip!
And if you find yourself in Rome, let's meet up for a gelato. Who knows, maybe I’ll even convince you to wear a pink tutu while you enjoy it. You never know, I might even make you a pink tutu-clad dancing queen!
Until next Wednesday, keep sparkling my beautiful friends, and don't forget to follow along on www.pink-tutu.com, for all the latest Pink Tutu updates!
Love always, Emma xx
