#PinkTutuRome: Ciao Bella, Roma! - Blog Post #283

Wednesday 8th November 2000

Buongiorno, darling readers! It's Emma here, your friendly neighbourhood tutu-wearing ballerina, landing back in Rome for another whirlwind week of pink-tinted adventures! After a thrilling train journey across the breathtaking Italian countryside (the views are swoon-worthy, let me tell you!), I'm back in the Eternal City, feeling absolutely fabulous.

Now, you might be wondering, why Rome again, Emma? Well, honestly, how could I not be back? Rome's a city that just steals your heart with its ancient charm, delicious gelato, and those endless, sun-soaked cobbled streets, just begging to be twirled on! This time, I've even managed to squeeze in a little extra magic – a spot of shopping on the Via Condotti, a must-see performance at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, and, naturally, plenty of gelato sampling for research purposes. wink wink.

But let’s rewind a little, shall we? It all began with my usual train journey to this amazing city. Oh, the joy of a good old train journey, filled with interesting encounters and captivating scenery. This time, my fellow travellers included a rather flamboyant opera singer (he was quite insistent on singing a selection of arias – and trust me, they were quite… interesting!) and a group of teenagers who were glued to their Walkman's, all listening to some fab 90s hip-hop. They just reminded me of my teenage years, it was rather charming. It’s the perfect way to ease into the Italian spirit before even arriving.

Rome – Where Pink Tutus Find their Home!

I'm already buzzing with excitement for the week ahead. My itinerary is brimming with fabulous finds, but let me give you a peek at just a few of the gems that are on the menu this week:

  • Fashion Friday is already calling. I'm making a beeline to the chic boutiques along Via Condotti and Via Borgognona, where I'm hoping to find some exquisite pieces for my dancewear wardrobe (and, of course, some gorgeous pink items for my ever-growing tutu collection!).

  • Opera Under the Stars: Now, on the topic of dancewear, it’s simply criminal that my beloved tutu can’t take centre stage at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. However, this week, I'll be experiencing a magical ballet production that promises to be an enchanting journey.

  • Weekend Gelato Odyssey: Did I mention gelato? Because I have a special place in my heart for the most delicious frozen treats. Oh, gelato! You are a work of art. This week, I'm aiming to try a new flavour every day, starting with a classic strawberry gelato on Friday (it just feels like the right way to celebrate my fabulous finds!). Who knows? I might even find some amazing, bright pink flavour I’ve never tried before. I'm absolutely certain to write all my culinary discoveries on my blog, just for you, dear readers.

  • Fashion & Fun: Of course, no trip to Rome is complete without indulging in some serious fashion and fun! From window-shopping to discovering hidden, vintage treasures in the local shops, I'll be on the hunt for some unique finds that scream "Roma!" in the best possible way. Think colourful, stylish accessories, funky little handbags and maybe even a beautiful Italian silk scarf or two! Oh, the possibilities!

I’m even going to try to find some fab Italian shoes with matching outfits for a perfect little afternoon photo-shoot, just because.

Life in a Pink Tutu

As you know, life in a pink tutu is all about embracing the joy in everything. So, for this trip, I'm keeping things bright, bubbly, and undeniably pink!

From me to you,

Have the most fantastic week! Embrace life's beautiful moments with a big, pink, tutu-filled heart!

Stay pink, dear readers!
