Pink Tutu Rome: Wednesday 2001-03-14 โ€“ La Dolce Vita, Ballerina Style! ๐Ÿฉฐ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น

Hello my gorgeous Tutu-lovers!

It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another dose of Pink Tutu Rome! Today I'm sharing all the girly fun I've been having in this magical city. Remember, this is post number 301 on www.pink-tutu.com!

This week, I've been feeling inspired by the la dolce vita vibe. It's all about beautiful things, sunshine, laughter, and a touch of elegance - exactly the sort of energy I want to bring to your feed today.

Now, you might be thinking, "Emma, you're in Rome? Shouldn't you be catching a show or heading to the ballet?" Well, of course! I did! But this week, my tutu-tastic adventures took me beyond the stage. Rome has so much to offer, it's hard to choose what to do! I mean, how do you even begin to describe a city that holds the history of emperors, gladiators, and... well, let's just say, enough gorgeous architecture to leave you speechless.

Fashion Flash!

Of course, my outfit needed to be on point for my Roman adventures!

Let me tell you, Rome is the perfect backdrop for a tutu. Imagine the flowing fabric as you twirl under the ancient Colosseum! Gulp... I know, it's an amazing thought, isn't it?

I'm rocking my new tulle pink tutu in a delicate shade that echoes the blush of the blossoming cherry trees I've seen dotted throughout the city. It's paired with a white silk blouse that has lace trim and an embroidered bow on the back. Naturally, it wouldn't be a Pink Tutu look without a touch of bling, so I added a dazzling diamond-encrusted pink ballerina brooch to my blouse, creating the perfect balance of vintage and modern style.

To finish off the look, I opted for comfortable, yet chic white ballet flats. The elegant pointy toe perfectly compliments my girly attire. And who needs heels when you've got Roman cobblestones to conquer, right?

Train Travel in Style:

I travelled to Rome on the train this week. And you guys know how much I adore the train! You see, it allows me to be immersed in the landscape. Watching the world rush by from the window as I get lost in a book is pure bliss. This week, my read was a delightful romantic novel by a favourite author, set in none other than Italy! I swear, my love for this country only grows deeper with each visit.

Speaking of reading, I recently picked up "The Elegance of the Hedgehog" by Muriel Barbery. It's a powerful book that has truly resonated with me, especially considering the emphasis it places on beauty, individuality, and living a life on your own terms. And really, who doesn't love that kind of message, right?

Exploring Ancient Rome:

One of the main things I wanted to see in Rome, obviously, was the Colosseum. I mean, who wouldn't want to step back in time and feel the excitement of the gladiators battling in that massive amphitheatre? My little pink tutu might not be entirely historical, but it certainly added a splash of modern whimsy to this historical spectacle! I imagined myself swirling on stage before a roaring audience, feeling the excitement and energy as I twirled!

Later, I took a stroll through the Roman Forum. It's fascinating to see the remnants of the ancient city โ€“ the Forum of Caesar, the Temple of Vestaโ€ฆ the ruins of this civilisation are breathtaking.

But don't worry, I didn't just stare at historical sites!

I had a delicious lunch at a charming little trattoria near the Pantheon. Let me tell you, a slice of cheesy pizza paired with a glass of sparkling wine was pure heaven.

Show Time!

Rome is known for its rich musical heritage and, of course, it's my duty to explore it!

One of the biggest highlights of my trip this week was seeing the legendary Andrea Bocelli in concert. You might think the music of Bocelli is all classical...but I actually got a real thrill out of watching this amazing artist performing contemporary opera in the Basilica of San Clemente, it was so atmospheric! Seeing such talented musicians is a true treat, and I'm always inspired by their skill and artistry.

This incredible performance was a real reminder that Rome is a place where beauty can be found at every turn. The buildings, the food, the art, the music... this city truly embodies la dolce vita.

Tutu Talk:

Okay, I need to tell you something amazing...while strolling through Rome's vibrant shopping streets, I found a little independent shop that sold the most gorgeous tulle fabrics! They had every colour under the sun. I was in tutu heaven! Of course, I had to stock up on several rolls of the finest pink and lavender tulle to use for my own personal tutu-making.

My next step? Well, I plan to experiment with some custom tutu creations. Just wait till you see what I have planned โ€“ think pink tulle, lace, and sparkles, and of course, more pink! ๐Ÿ˜‰

So, if you're ever in Rome and see a little blonde ballerina swirling through the cobbled streets, come and say hello! You never know, you might just inspire my next pink tutu creation.

I'll be posting more adventures from Rome next Wednesday, so make sure you tune in! And donโ€™t forget, I always love to hear from you, so share your own stories, travels, and thoughts with me in the comments below.

Stay sparkling!

Emma x
