Buongiorno, darlings! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu Rome adventure! I'm absolutely bursting with excitement to share this week's escapades with you, my fellow tutu-lovers.
As you know, I've always dreamt of exploring Italy, and here I am, living my best la dolce vita in the heart of Rome! It feels utterly magical, just like stepping straight into a scene from a Federico Fellini film, only with a lot more pink!
A Journey Through the City of Seven Hills
I arrived in Rome on a glorious Sunday morning, having taken a picturesque overnight train from Paris. I'll admit, I felt like a proper princess on that train! Imagine it: me, nestled amongst a sea of pastel-pink luggage, surrounded by the intoxicating scent of Italian pastries, a twinkle in my eye, and a little pink tulle peeking out from my suitcase. Bliss!
As soon as we rolled into Roma Termini station, I could feel the pulse of this ancient city. A kaleidoscope of sights and sounds filled my senses: vibrant street markets bursting with colour, the tantalising aroma of espresso filling the air, the sound of laughter echoing down narrow cobbled streets… and, of course, a thousand stories whispering in the ruins of the Colosseum, which I swear, I could feel pulsating with history even from across the square.
Rome Through a Pink Tutu Lens
Naturally, the first thing on my Roman agenda was finding the perfect spot for a tutu photoshoot! It's no secret I adore capturing my adventures with the perfect picture, and Rome was just begging for a touch of pink tulle magic. My Instagram followers will already have seen the stunning pictures of me twirling in the shadow of the Trevi Fountain – just wait until you see the ones in front of the Pantheon, truly breathtaking!
Now, no trip to Rome is complete without indulging in the city's fabulous fashion scene. This week, I found myself completely enamoured by the vibrant boutiques along Via Condotti. Imagine, an entire street dedicated to luxury Italian brands! I indulged in a little shopaholic therapy and snagged the most gorgeous blush pink silk scarf – I'll be sure to incorporate it into my tutu ensembles for my next performance.
The Magic of the Teatro dell'Opera
The highlight of my week was undoubtedly attending a ballet performance at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma. Oh, the grandeur! The ornate theatre was like something out of a fairytale. We saw a stunning performance of Giselle, and the ballet dancers were absolutely breathtaking! I could barely keep my own feet still; their movements were so fluid, graceful, and ethereal – just like the beautiful tulle gowns they wore.
It was a night of pure inspiration! It made me even more determined to make a career out of sharing the magic of dance with the world.
A Sweet Taste of Rome
And, of course, I've been savouring all the delicious Roman delicacies! We started the day with a decadent breakfast of fresh fruit and Italian coffee, and, in the evenings, we enjoyed authentic Italian cuisine with its delightful flavours and mouth-watering aroma. From steaming bowls of pasta carbonara to creamy gelato, I've been enjoying every bite. (Although, let's be honest, all that pasta is a bit of a challenge for a girl who lives in her tutu!)
Pink Tutu Travel Tips for My Fellow Tutus
For anyone planning their own trip to Rome, here's a little pink-tutu-inspired advice:
- Don't forget the twirling: Make sure to embrace the romance of the city with a good, old-fashioned tutu twirl – trust me, the photos are fabulous!
