Pink Tutu Rome: #329 - La Dolce Vita in Pink! 🩰🇮🇹
Ciao, darlings! It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time for another Pink Tutu Rome post! I’m so excited to be sharing my adventures with you all, as I explore this magical city! 💖
This week, the 26th September 2001, has been an absolute whirlwind of fashion, ballet, and of course, a touch of pink.
You see, my darlings, there’s something about Italy that just makes me want to twirl. Maybe it's the romance, the vibrant colours, or perhaps it's the delicious gelato that melts on your tongue – I mean, who can resist a tutu when the mood strikes?
A Touch of Pink at The Trevi FountainYesterday morning, I awoke to the sound of cheerful chatter from the piazza below my apartment, where the street performers were already practicing their craft. The sun streamed through the window and lit my tulle-decked room with a soft, warm glow. I simply had to share this magic with the world, so after a quick cup of coffee and a twirl in my blush-coloured silk robe, I stepped out for the day.
After a leisurely stroll along the Via Condotti – my oh my, you must experience this street for yourselves, the fashion heaven awaits! – I arrived at the Trevi Fountain, that breathtaking masterpiece! It was crowded with people, all mesmerized by the rushing waters and the legendary wish-making tradition. Of course, a touch of pink was required. As the fountain's cascading water danced around the marble, I posed, twirling with my pink tulle in the sunshine. It was like a ballet of pastel and history coming together. My own little "Pink Tutu Trevi"! 💖
A Ballet Bliss at Teatro dell’OperaLater that day, I indulged in my passion, heading for Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. The grandeur of the place left me speechless. With its beautiful frescoes and intricate gilded details, it felt like a storybook setting for an exquisite evening. This is the kind of place that simply demands a tulle-filled moment! And of course, I couldn't resist taking a couple of impromptu twirls under the shimmering chandeliers. The energy, the atmosphere, the magic of ballet - it was everything I could have hoped for!
Tonight’s performance of "Giselle" was truly exceptional. The ballerina's grace, the poignant storytelling, the passion... it was mesmerizing! And what better way to top off this beautiful ballet experience than a scoop of creamy pistachio gelato on the way back to my hotel. The combination of the sweet scent of almond and pistachio and the feeling of the cobblestone streets beneath my feet - this is la dolce vita in pink, my darlings.
Shopping SplendorNow, no trip to Italy would be complete without some serious shopping, and let me tell you, Rome has not disappointed! From vintage treasures tucked away in charming alleyways to the glamorous boutiques on Via dei Condotti, the city is a treasure trove of fashion delights. I've found some exquisite additions to my tutu wardrobe, and even spotted a vintage silk scarf that was practically screaming “pink” to me! I simply had to have it.
The scent of leather in the designer shops on Via dei Condotti is intoxicating. So much artistry goes into every purse and bag. The suede boots are tempting! I simply had to get my hands on a new tutu from this stylish store that was like a wonderland of fabrics. The silks, the chiffons... I’m ready for more performances!
The Pink Tutu LifeRome is a place where the world just seems to slow down, a place where even the most chaotic day feels like a romantic escapade. And for a pink-tutu loving ballerina like myself, there is no better place to be!
What I’m learning on this journey is that a touch of pink can bring a little magic to even the most mundane moment. So go on, darling, twirl with confidence, wear your colours proudly, and spread a little pink tutu joy wherever you go.
And stay tuned, next week I’ll be sharing more of my Roman adventures with you, including a visit to the Colosseum, a gelato tasting adventure, and possibly even a street performance with the Pink Tutu Gang! ( more on that in the coming weeks!)
Until then, happy twirling! 💖
Yours in Pink, Emma x
