Pink Tutu Rome: Week 346 - Buongiorno, Bella Roma!

Ciao, darling tutus! It's Emma, back from a whirlwind adventure in the Eternal City – Rome, baby! And let me tell you, Rome is living up to its name. This place is just bursting with history, romance, and let's not forget… pizza! I’ve spent the past week feeling like I’ve stepped right into a movie, with every corner unveiling another ancient ruin or cobblestone street, adorned with gorgeous flowers. It's the perfect mix of glamorous and enchanting, just like me!

This week on Pink Tutu Rome, we’re taking a leap into the heart of Roman culture, exploring iconic sights, savouring delicious delicacies, and of course, admiring the fabulous fashion.

Travels in Style

Now, before I dive into the deliciousness of this week's adventures, let me just say - arriving in Rome was a dream come true. After a perfectly smooth train journey (can't recommend Eurostar enough for a luxurious trip!), I emerged into a city abuzz with excitement and just a tad bit chaotic (in the best way possible, naturally).

My very first order of business was, of course, a spot of shopping! The Roman designers have such an elegant and timeless aesthetic, which I'm totally vibing with this season. It's all about classic shapes, bold colours and – of course! - pink. Just a little something to spice up my ballet wardrobe, you know.

Tutus, Trevi, and Traviata

Let's be honest, there’s nothing more magical than exploring a city steeped in history with a pink tutu in tow. I was absolutely captivated by the Colosseum, and the Pantheon is simply awe-inspiring – the acoustics inside are just… unbelievable! It felt like I could hear the whispers of emperors from millennia past. Of course, I had to perform a little twirl at the Trevi Fountain for good luck and an even bigger splash of magic! It wouldn't be a Roman trip without making a wish!

Oh, and did I mention opera? The Italian passion for opera is truly breathtaking. I caught a stunning performance of "La Traviata" at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma. The grandeur of the theatre itself is captivating – I was swept away by the beautiful voices, the passionate choreography, and the elaborate costumes! It was a true testament to the beauty of artistry and theatrical flair, reminding me of the reason I wear my pink tutu with such pride.

Fashion Fiesta

Speaking of fashion, let's talk about Rome's style! Think classic Italian elegance with a touch of modern flair. The locals seem to have a knack for pulling off chic, casual ensembles – effortless silhouettes with statement accessories, think beautiful scarves and fabulous heels. I saw more chic outfits in one afternoon than I have in my whole time in Derbyshire! It’s inspiring, to say the least, and you bet I’m taking some style notes for my upcoming performances!

Flavours of Rome

Rome’s food is legendary, and I’m here to tell you, it deserves every ounce of praise! My taste buds were on a tour de force this week. From perfectly cooked pasta dishes to creamy gelato – I haven’t stopped dreaming of Italian cuisine since I left. And don’t even get me started on the pizzas! (Seriously, don't. The real thing can only be found in Italy, folks!)

Pink Tutu Travels – A Ballerina's Delight

It's been such a treat to share my love of pink, ballet, and travel with you this week, my tutus!

Keep your eyes peeled for next week’s Pink Tutu Rome blog. We're off to explore the Vatican City and embrace its ancient treasures and art. I'll be sure to post about some more gorgeous shops and maybe even try some more gelato – you're welcome!.

Until next week, stay radiant, be brave, and wear your tutus proudly!

Bisous,

Emma
