Pink Tutu Rome: #351 - 27th February 2002 - La Dolce Vita, Tutus & Theatres!

Ciao Bella! It's your favourite tutu-clad traveller, Emma, bringing you another instalment of Pink Tutu Rome. This week, my lovelies, we're dipping into the vibrant, charming streets of Rome, with a sprinkle of pink and a whole lot of tutu magic!

I know, I know! You're thinking "Rome?! What's a ballet-loving girl doing in the land of gladiators and ancient history?". Well, I'm telling you, darlings, this city has something for everyone. Yes, the Colosseum and the Roman Forum are truly awe-inspiring, but it's the vibrant street life, the delicious food, the dazzling fashion scene, and let's be honest, the copious gelato (a pink one for me, naturally!), that have my heart swooning.

This week has been a whirlwind of delightful discoveries, and I've got so much to share!

A Tutu-licious Treat: The Ballet Opera of Rome

As always, I make a point of seeking out local ballet performances wherever I travel. And my goodness, Rome did not disappoint! On Monday, I experienced a beautiful ballet performance by the Ballet Opera of Rome, set within the magnificent Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. It was an enchanting production, full of exquisite choreography and a vibrant energy that left me feeling completely enthralled.

My darling tutu even received compliments from the other ladies! A very proud moment for a Pink Tutu girl.

Shopping for the Soul: Fashion Delights

Who doesn't love a little shopping spree? And Rome, oh Rome, you've stolen my heart! Every corner is bursting with shops overflowing with gorgeous Italian leather, stunning silk scarves, and chic boutiques showcasing local designers. I managed to pick up a beautiful silk scarf, in - you guessed it - a glorious shade of pink!

Discovering Rome's Secret Corners

This week, I've ventured beyond the obvious tourist traps, and have stumbled upon some absolute gems! We strolled through the bustling Campo de’ Fiori market, indulging in fresh fruit, local cheeses, and aromatic bread. It's a feast for the senses! And I found a delightful little artisan's shop in the heart of Trastevere - a quirky little district where I lost myself in a maze of winding alleyways.

Onwards & Upwards - Train Travel & a Pink Tutu Look

The journey here, via train from Derbyshire, was truly charming. As always, the train ride brought back memories of ballets past. The rhythm of the train, the gentle swaying, it's almost like a choreography of its own! And for the journey, my darling, I opted for a vibrant pink tutu and a classic black cardigan – a look both comfortable and stylish, just perfect for the journey.

This Wednesday's Look: Pink, Of Course!

This week, I'm stepping out in Rome in a truly glorious, all-pink ensemble. My new silk scarf, a pink floral print dress with a soft, ruffled neckline, a delicate pink cardigan, and - what else? - a magnificent, voluminous pink tutu! Because let's be honest, there's no such thing as too much pink!

The Dream: Pink Tutus For All

My dream, darlings, is to bring the pink tutu revolution to the world, and Rome is the perfect stage for this sartorial dream. Imagine the streets filled with ladies, all clad in pink tutus, twirling with joy, and embracing the sheer beauty of colour and self-expression!

This is my mission, my lovelies - to inspire everyone to find their own personal touch of pink, whether it's a single pink feather boa, a delicate pink necklace, or a full-blown pink tutu moment! Let's dance our way to a world where pink is not just a colour, but a symbol of happiness, self-expression, and pure, unadulterated joy!

Until next week, keep on twirling, keep on shining, and remember, darlings, it's never too late to put on your own pink tutu and embrace the world in all its colourful glory!

Lots of love, Emma www.pink-tutu.com
