Hello lovelies! Itās Emma from #PinkTutu, and Iām writing to you from the Eternal City ā Rome, Italy! A huge thank you to all of you who have followed my journey so far and helped make #PinkTutu possible. This weekās adventure is brought to you thanks to a smashing performance at the Derby Playhouse last weekend, twirling and pirouetting my way into another incredible trip. The sound of applause is the best motivator for travel plans, wouldnāt you say?
Today, Iām channeling my inner Roman goddess with a custom-made pink tutu with swirling gold and turquoise details. Think gladiators, colosseum, and the majestic history that just breathes out of this beautiful city ā itās enough to make any ballerinaās heart flutter!
This Wednesday is extra special because we're venturing into the depths of the Pantheon, one of the most magnificent structures in the entire world! Its history is incredible. Itās like stepping into a different era. And letās be honest, who doesn't love a bit of history and architecture? Itās the ultimate romantic backdrop, especially when it's adorned with pink. And you better believe Iāve coordinated my tutu accordingly!
Ciao Bella: Finding My Pink Bliss in Rome!
Rome is such a colourful, exciting city. The energy here is vibrant and a million miles away from my lovely home in Derbyshire. Thereās just something about the Italian lifestyle that feels so romantic and exciting ā and a touch scandalous! This place is bursting with art, architecture, delicious food, and some of the best shopping I've encountered in Europe. Even the gelato is bursting with a symphony of colours and flavours! I've been dreaming about this trip since last year's fashion show in Paris.
Weāve already sampled some delicious, oh-so-Italian pizza. I know this sounds clichĆ©, but the food in Rome is truly out of this world! Just a single bite and you're transported to the very soul of Italian culture.
This week weāre making our way to the Colosseum. Itās going to be incredible, a little like being transported back in time to ancient Roman times. Imagine the grand displays, the excitement in the air, the roaring of the crowdsā¦and my, how much I wish I could be twirling in my tutu there ā just picture it! But no need to imagine because, well, you knowā¦ #PinkTutuEverywhere!
My blog is filled with images of my outfits (donāt forget to check out my āTutus of Romeā section for all the fashion inspo!), and snippets of what it's like being a #PinkTutu ambassador to this gorgeous city. Iāll be posting photos all week ā get ready for pink on pink on pink! We'll also be stopping by a little vintage boutique tomorrow ā fingers crossed for some Roman gems to add to my collection.
A Ballerina's Roman Dream:
Yesterday, I caught a private performance by Rome's most talented young ballet company ā and it was a revelation! Imagine dancing under the starry Roman sky, with the beautiful old stone buildings illuminated by the moonlight, in a little squareā¦ Pure magic, if you ask me.
This got me thinking: It would be truly incredible to perform ballet right in the heart of the Roman Forum. Now that's an idea to ponder! It would be a true celebration of culture, beauty, and, of course, #PinkTutu. My mind is bursting with visions of tutus floating over ancient ruins, and perhaps a flash mob, perhaps a little "PinkTutu takeover of Romeā ā what a glorious idea, wouldnāt you say? I may need to have a word with the city's cultural minister ā wouldn't that be lovely? Imagineā¦ a symphony of dance and history intertwining. Sigh This is a ballerinaās dream come true!
Rome, Weāre in Love!
But back to the real world, this beautiful, captivating city is a sensory overload! Itās vibrant, colourful, loud, exciting ā it makes you feel alive! And it makes you want to dance! Even walking through the winding alleys is a ballet in itself. So, grab a coffee (don't forget the gelato!) and get lost in the beauty of Rome. But please, take time to notice all the small things that make this city so enchanting! This city is just screaming for you to be yourself and embrace life ā in a pink tutu of course!
This city reminds me of how important it is to spread a little joy, a little pink wherever you go. You'll find your own unique kind of joy here, a place where the world is your stage and where imagination and creativity bloom! This is the place to let your inner ballerina out and live life to the fullest, tutu-tastic, fabulous and colourful.
And remember, pink tutus are for everyone! Youāre all beautiful and deserve to shine, whatever your age, size or style! Just let your #PinkTutu inner shine and share your love of dance, fashion and life.
