Pink Tutu Rome: Wednesday 2005-04-27 – Ciao Bella!

Post Number 516

Welcome back to my little corner of the internet, darlings! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another exciting edition of Pink Tutu Rome, straight from the Eternal City itself!

As you all know, I adore travelling by train. The rhythm of the tracks, the clickety-clack of the wheels, the gentle sway... it’s almost as enchanting as a graceful pirouette. This week, I took a scenic train journey straight into the heart of Rome, with the sunshine streaming through the window, just like a spotlight illuminating the stage!

Today, I'm channeling my inner Roman goddess with a flowing pink silk skirt, a fitted black bodice, and of course, a pink tutu adorning my hip like a sparkling halo! I’m ready to conquer the Roman sights with the grace and poise of a prima ballerina. After all, wouldn't a majestic Roman colosseum look simply stunning adorned with a delicate layer of pink tulle? Just imagine the impact!

First stop – The Vatican! Now, you might be thinking "Emma, The Vatican? Isn’t that a bit serious for a Pink Tutu adventure?" But oh, darlings, you couldn’t be more wrong! It's bursting with intricate beauty, inspiring art, and dazzling architecture that rivals even the most spectacular ballet stage. The marble sculptures are almost as captivating as a grand corps de ballet, and the vibrant frescoes, bursting with colour and detail, remind me of a lavish set design for a fantastical ballet.

I must admit, though, there were quite a few disapproving looks from the cardinals. But hey, who said you can’t combine a love of ballet with spirituality? I’m just trying to share my joy of all things pink and twirly!

And speaking of twirling... I was absolutely enchanted by the Ballet show at Teatro dell'Opera di Roma last night! It was pure magic – the exquisite movements, the stunning costumes, and the passionate music had me mesmerised. The finale, a whirlwind of delicate jumps and dramatic flourishes, left me with a newfound appreciation for the power of ballet to transport you to another world.

No trip to Rome is complete without a little shopping indulgence, darlings! Today, I'm hunting for exquisite Italian fabrics, lace and embellishments for my upcoming creations. Just imagine the possibilities: a custom-made tutu from the finest silk, hand-painted with delicate rose motifs, or a shimmering bodice with hand-stitched sequins!

Of course, my shopping excursion would be incomplete without indulging in a delicious slice of tiramisu and a strong cappuccino! The cafe culture here in Rome is simply divine – everyone sits around sipping their coffee and catching up on life's little dramas, much like a leisurely backstage chat amongst the ballerinas!

Speaking of catching up, let's have a chat! What have you been up to this week? Have you been embracing the power of pink tutus in your own life? I'm all ears for your fabulous stories.

Remember, darlings, the world is your stage, and there's always a reason to twirl! Until next Wednesday, when we'll be diving into another enchanting adventure in this glorious city, I send you all my love and the warmest wishes.

Keep shining, and never stop twirling!

Emma x
