Pink Tutu Rome: #612 - La Dolce Vita and Tutu-ing Around

Ciao bellas! It's your favourite pink tutu-wearing ballerina, Emma, back with another week's adventures, this time from the beautiful, bustling city of Rome!

Rome is everything I imagined, a feast for the senses โ€“ gorgeous architecture, delicious smells wafting from the trattorias, and even the sound of the pigeons cooing seems to be infused with a certain je ne sais quoi!

And of course, my first order of business was to get myself a fab pink tutu, perfect for my Roman escapades. You know I can't resist a good shop! Thankfully, Rome doesn't disappoint. The markets are a veritable wonderland of gorgeous fabrics, hand-crafted leather goods and oh-so-stylish clothing. I snagged a divine silk scarf for myself, which I know will look absolutely stunning when paired with my new pink tutu and a simple black dress - pure elegance!

This week, Rome is abuzz with excitement for Carnevale, a dazzling celebration of colour, masks, and all things fun. Imagine if Mardi Gras and Halloween got together and had a flamboyant baby โ€“ that's Carnevale. I absolutely love the vibrancy and the spirit of creativity it evokes! I mean, everyone's wearing fancy dress - just like a ballet performance! Even my Italian ballet classes were in full swing, full of gorgeous girls in bright colours, laughing and swirling their tutus - how fun is that?

Speaking of ballet, I managed to snag some tickets to see the Rome Opera Ballet perform Giselle at the Teatro dell'Opera. They say Giselle is a story of heartbreak and love - how romantic, right? Imagine a love story unfolding in this stunning venue, set against the backdrop of Rome's timeless beauty - I'm getting goosebumps just thinking about it. I've always loved Giselle, and I am so excited to see how they interpret it. This might be the perfect way to end my Italian adventure, with a beautiful story of love and loss unfolding beneath the opulent, antique chandelier in the opera house, all while dressed in my favourite pink tutu, naturally!

Travelling to Rome by train was, as always, a pure joy. You really get to see the heart of Italy when you travel by train. Watching the countryside flit past the windows - vineyards bathed in the afternoon sun, terracotta roofed towns and a charming old lady with a cat nestled on her lap - it was like watching a story unfold right before my eyes! The Italians know how to travel in style - every trip is an experience, whether you're a seasoned traveler like me or just embarking on your first adventure.

My Italian adventure continues next week! Stay tuned for my next post, where I'll be sharing my experiences at the Galleria Borghese, and tell you all about the yummy Roman pizza I devoured in between!

So remember, "Live your life in pink", especially with a beautiful pink tutu on your bod!

Until next time, darlings!

Ciao from Rome!

XOXO, Emma
