Pink Tutu Rome: Wednesday 2007-09-19 – Ciao Bella!
#PinkTutuRome #641
Hello darlings! It's Wednesday again, and you know what that means: time for another Pink Tutu Rome adventure! This week, I'm shimmying my way through the Eternal City, with my pink tutu fluttering behind me like a feathered ballet skirt.
Trains and tutus, what a combo!
I arrived in Rome on Monday after a delightful train journey from Paris. Let me tell you, travelling by train is the absolute best way to soak in the scenery, and it also allows for fabulous fashion moments – a statement tutu never fails to draw admiring glances from fellow passengers! This journey was no exception. My bright pink tutu and fluffy, lavender hat, teamed with a vintage cardigan, certainly turned heads in the carriage!
Roman dreams: A taste of the Trevi Fountain and a Pink Tutu Twirl
Rome has already stolen my heart! It’s breathtaking. The first stop was a visit to the iconic Trevi Fountain. As I stood mesmerized, taking in the Baroque splendor, I just had to do a little pirouette under the cascading water, twirling my pink tutu. It’s a shame I can’t toss a coin into the fountain… for luck I need all my pennies for gelato! Speaking of which, my afternoon was dedicated to exploring the Roman culinary scene. I sampled the most incredible tiramisu, rich and creamy, just like the Italian sunshine.
Theatrical Thursday - A Date with Opera
Today's agenda is set: opera! My dearest friend, Serena, and I are planning a spectacular evening at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma. We are going to be the most fabulous, tulle-tastic guests in the room. I'm envisioning a statement-making pink tulle dress and my most magnificent headpiece! Imagine me, standing in the front row, shimmering under the chandelier, watching the opera unfold... it's going to be magical! I simply must share it with you all, so be sure to check back next Wednesday for the recap!
Tutu Tales: A ballet-themed shopping spree!
Now, we can’t talk about Rome without mentioning the shopping! I’m already dreaming about browsing the boutiques on Via Condotti, especially the vintage and antique shops. Maybe a new feather boa for the opera would be just the thing to top off my outfit? Or perhaps a gorgeous silk scarf with some dramatic tulle edging to complement my pink tutu, of course. I simply can't resist a bit of retail therapy when I’m in a beautiful city!
The magic of Italy
You know, I feel so inspired being in Italy, the birthplace of so much artistic beauty. Rome is an open-air museum, and walking the cobblestone streets, surrounded by the city's rich history, fills me with creativity. I've already sketched a few ideas for a new ballet choreography. I think a performance based around Roman mythology and dance could be incredibly stunning. Oh, to have a theatre space of my own, right here in the heart of Rome! Just imagine the pink tutu possibilities!
Fashion, food and tutus, my love affair with Italy continues
I am so excited about all the incredible experiences I’ll have this week. From pasta and pizza tasting (with my tutu of course!) to exploring the Colosseum, every day in Rome is a dance through the wonders of history and culture. The vibrancy of the city has definitely rubbed off on me - I am full of life, and I’m brimming with ideas for new routines and blog posts. I simply have to bring a piece of Roman magic back with me to Derbyshire, but, more on that later.
Don’t forget to check back next Wednesday for a full, pink tutu-tastic recap of my Italian escapades.
Until next time, darlings, stay fashionable and twirl often!
Love, Emma
PS. Remember, if you love pink, if you love ballet, if you love the twirl of a tulle skirt… then wear a pink tutu! The world needs more twirls and more pink!
