Pink Tutu Rome: #660 ā€“ Roman Holiday!

Hello darlings!

Itā€™s Wednesday, which means itā€™s time for another Pink Tutu Rome post! Iā€™m back in my flat (Iā€™m renting a teeny-tiny, charming one near the Colosseum ā€“ so close, I can practically hear the gladiators practicing!) after a fabulous day exploring this incredible city.

This week, I decided to indulge my inner-fashionista and head straight for Via Condotti, Romeā€™s most famous luxury shopping street. I was hoping to find some inspiration for a new Pink Tutu design ā€“ I have something absolutely divine in mind that I think will knock your socks off (well, maybe not the socks partā€¦).

Pink and Glamour:

I'm talking feathers, lace, and just a dash of that Italian panache! Rome is certainly the place for fashion inspiration - I had to resist buying everything I saw, especially with all those irresistible colours and texturesā€¦ but, I did pick up some gorgeous lace trims to play around with back at the flat. Maybe I can have a go at creating something for the blog next week, what do you think?

Of course, I couldnā€™t resist a Pink Tutu* moment on Via Condotti ā€“ the perfect opportunity to showcase my newest tutu, this one with a sparkly pink sequin skirt and a custom-made tutu bodice adorned with shimmering rose-gold fabric. Itā€™s a true ā€œPrima Ballerinaā€ style, if you know what I mean!

Pink and Ballet

As always, I took the day to savour Romeā€™s stunning architecture and artistic beauty, and of course, some breathtaking ballet, too! In the afternoon, I caught a Romeo and Juliet performance at the Teatro dellā€™Opera di Roma. The dancers were phenomenal - pure emotion and elegance in every movement. Honestly, the final pas de deux was simply breathtaking. It left me wanting to run back to Derbyshire to get back into ballet shoes, for sure!

The Food and the Friends

In the evening, I enjoyed a lovely dinner with some new friends ā€“ the sweetest pair of sisters from Florence, Giulia and Margherita. We met on the train to Rome ā€“ both dressed in such fun and elegant fashion, I had to approach them! We even shared a pink Gelato at the end of the meal (and I swear, they both had pink tutus hidden under their outfits).

As Iā€™m sitting here in my flat, I canā€™t help but think how much I'm loving Rome! The city just vibrates with this incredible blend of history, culture, art, fashion ā€“ I even found a fabulous bakery down the road with the most gorgeous pink meringue kisses (of course I bought a dozen!). The pace is so different from life back home, but I find it truly liberating. I feel like Iā€™m embracing the pink-tutu lifestyle even more.

Next Week?

Now, on a different note - you might be thinking, "Emma, when are you going to come home?! We miss you!". Donā€™t worry, my lovely readers, my Roman adventure isnā€™t ending anytime soon. But, next Wednesday, Iā€™m going to tell you all about my plans to explore the breathtaking Colosseum, so be sure to check back then!

In the meantime, keep dreaming in pink, darling, and remember ā€“ itā€™s never too late to embrace your inner ballerina, and donā€™t be afraid to wear a pink tutu ā€“ it's all about celebrating joy, style, and making a statement, right?

Ciao for now,

Emma

Emmaā€™s Rome Blog Tips:

If you're considering a trip to Rome, here are a few top tips from me:

Travel:

  • I love trains, and I'd recommend using them wherever possible! Romeā€™s rail system is efficient and fun ā€“ itā€™s definitely more charming than a bus, you can get some great views, and thereā€™s just a little more room to be fabulous!
  • But, remember to check timetables! There are different levels of frequency - so try to book in advance if you can. Itā€™s always good to be organized and have a backup plan if your chosen service is suddenly delayed (been there, done that!).

Shopping:

  • Via Condotti is fantastic, but you will also find loads of independent stores and markets to browse throughout the city, where you can pick up unique and more affordable pieces. Be sure to bargain! You might be surprised what you can get.

Performances:

  • Rome has so many stunning venues. The Teatro dellā€™Opera is definitely worth checking out for a ballet performance, but also see if you can catch a street or theatre show in the Campo deā€™ Fiori area. Itā€™s a real melting pot of entertainment and fashion ā€“ think live music, street theatre, and quirky, fabulous outfits.

Fashion:

  • Remember that style matters in Rome. It's all about confidence, and embracing a bold style. So, pack your most eye-catching outfits, that perfect statement jewellery piece ā€“ but donā€™t forget the key ingredient: the pink tutu.

The Blog:

  • You can check out my other posts and Pink Tutu updates on www.pink-tutu.com, or just follow me on #PinkTutuRome on social media! I canā€™t wait to see your pink tutu pictures, darling.

Pink and Positive:

  • Iā€™m finding that the Pink Tutu is the key to making every day, every adventure a little bit brighter! So donā€™t let the fear of what other people think hold you back ā€“ embrace the pink, the glitter, and the tutu!

Happy Travels!
