Pink Tutu Rome: Wednesday 6th February 2008 - Post #661

Ciao bella!

It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu Rome post! The cobbled streets are calling, and I'm ready to answer, tutu in tow, of course.

I'm absolutely loving my time here in the Eternal City. The sheer amount of history is overwhelming, in the best possible way. From the Colosseum to the Trevi Fountain, every corner seems to hold centuries of stories.

Taking a Tutu Through Time:

This week, I ventured to the Castel Sant'Angelo. It was simply breathtaking! The views from the top of the castle were spectacular, and the history just oozed from every stone. I'm a big fan of any building that has a moat โ€“ definitely a plus in my book!

You wouldn't believe the amount of beautiful clothing I found at the Campo de' Fiori market! My pink tutu did wonders when it came to charming the stallholders. I got such a bargain on some silk scarves - they'll be perfect for my upcoming ballet performances.

Train Adventures and Pink Dreams:

The Italian train system is something else! Travelling by train to Rome from my home in Derbyshire was a true adventure. It was so comfy and I got to see so much of the countryside. There's nothing quite like seeing the world through a train window.

Rome's underground, the Metropolitana, is also fantastic, and they're so chic! Who knew that travel could be so fashionable?

Speaking of fashion, I found a stunning vintage hat shop called "Cappelli Romani". I almost fainted! The hats were to die for โ€“ I was in heaven! I'm a bit of a headwear enthusiast, so this was definitely a highlight of the trip. I just wish I had more luggage space to take some home!

A Taste of Italian Delights:

And, of course, I've been indulging in the glorious Italian food. Every day feels like a feast! The pasta is amazing, the pizza is divine, and the gelato is out of this world. Let's just say my love for all things pink hasn't stopped me from embracing the rich and vibrant flavours of Italian cuisine.

A Ballerina's Dream Come True:

To end the week on a truly beautiful note, I was lucky enough to attend a performance at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma. It was absolutely magical! The choreography was exquisite, and the dancers were phenomenal.

The highlight? I managed to slip a quick peek backstage โ€“ the sheer artistry of the costuming was just incredible. It's truly inspiring seeing the magic that goes on behind the curtain!

Looking Forward:

Next week, I'll be exploring the Pantheon, indulging in more Italian delights, and hopefully catching another breathtaking ballet performance.

And don't forget to check out my www.pink-tutu.com website for all the latest updates from Rome! You can even follow my journey on social media, just search for "Pink Tutu Rome".

I truly believe that everyone can wear a pink tutu, not just me. So why not give it a try? Embrace your inner ballerina!

Ciao for now, and stay stylish!

Emma,

xx
