Pink Tutu Rome: Post #663 - The Eternal City of Pink!

Ciao bella! It's Wednesday, the day of the week when I finally get to share my Roman adventures with all you lovely lot!

This week, I'm bringing you straight from the heart of Rome! You know, this time I've really stepped out of my comfort zone. I mean, Rome is likeā€¦ wow! Itā€™s filled with historical buildings that look like theyā€™ve sprung straight out of my favourite history book!

You'll all be surprised to hear this, but I didnā€™t even fly here. Yes, you read that right. I decided to make this trip an adventure. A real-life fairytale princess, I took the train from Derbyshire, I packed my trusty tutu (because where else could a ballerina be without one?) and off I went.

As I hopped onto the train in London, a group of lovely children dressed in the prettiest little ballet outfits with their parents all gathered around started to give me excited stares. I decided to start my adventure by giving them a little impromptu ballet performance right there and then, much to the delight of the parents. This got the whole train in a festive mood. We even had a little singalong! Thatā€™s how the whole journey began - and let me tell you, Iā€™m getting good at my on-the-spot choreographing!

The whole journey was so magical. Seeing the changing landscapes outside the window, sipping on my hot chocolate - it was like one of those old film scenes, except that the film would definitely have had a whole lot of pink in it! And honestly, my dear readers, why not? Life is much more enjoyable when you wear your favourite colour. It truly sets the mood!

Roman Dreams and Twirling Fun:

Rome is amazing, everyone! It's like stepping straight into an art gallery. There are fountains and statues all over the place. The Trevi Fountain is gorgeous, but the Pantheon took my breath away. Can you imagine if we built places like that today?! Itā€™s a real testament to history. The streets are buzzing with people and delicious food smells - you can almost taste history!

My adventures so far have been full of fun. I've already managed to squeeze in some fabulous sightseeing - the Colosseum, the Forum and the Vatican Cityā€¦ the most magnificent places. Itā€™s like being a history princess for a week! I've also enjoyed delicious Roman cuisine, and trust me, nothing is as tasty as a bowl of creamy pasta after a long day of exploring.

Speaking of exploring, you can't go to Rome without getting your shopping fix! Oh, the joy of a good old-fashioned shopping spree! I found some of the most amazing pink accessories in a little boutique near the Trevi Fountain! There were feather boas and sparkly shoes andā€¦ wellā€¦ shall I even mention all the pink shoes I picked up? Honestly, Rome is a shopaholic's paradise, but thatā€™s something weā€™re going to explore further on another Wednesday. Iā€™m even wearing my pink ballet shoes every day - the shoes are not just meant for dance! They are made for everyday wear and this pink shade is simply stunning. The locals havenā€™t stopped looking at my shoes ā€“ Rome just loves to see pink tutu style! They say "mamma miaā€ when they pass by! That's as close as you're going to get to a ā€œbravoā€ for your fashion choice here!

Oh! Before I forget - yesterday, I even managed to see an extraordinary opera performance! They did ā€œThe Magic Fluteā€ and it truly made me feel like I was in another world. Of course, you all know my love for opera and all the ballet they feature - such passion, and incredible performances by talented people! Seeing something so beautiful made me wonder if there's more beauty in the world that I havenā€™t seen yet.

But wait! I haven't mentioned the real reason Iā€™m here ā€“ the real adventure. Itā€™s what brought me to Rome. What brought you here dear reader? The pink tutu of course! You can guess what's coming next. Rome is going to be a big pink adventure and I am getting everyone to join me.

It's true, everyone! Itā€™s almost February 20th ā€“ the day I get to introduce a Roman family to the magic of a pink tutu. I found a charming, artistic little family, a family who loves theatre just as much as I do! The girls will be doing ballet on Thursday with me ā€“ itā€™s my favourite way to share the fun! I just love making little girls twirl, I love getting everyone excited. It makes me want to hug everyone,

But, of course, a big city like Rome deserves something special ā€“ a huge ā€œPink Tutu Roman Experience!ā€ Itā€™s not about simply wearing pink, itā€™s about having an exciting, unforgettable day filled with pink. So, what will this pink adventure be? Weā€™ll be visiting the magnificent gardens of Villa Borghese and taking pictures, Iā€™ll teach everyone a ballet routine that we can perform there, weā€™ll even be adding a spot of pink to our afternoon tea. I want to create a magical pink dream that makes them smile, and letā€™s face it, isnā€™t that the best way to brighten up the day?

And Iā€™ve got one last thing planned ā€“ Iā€™m organising a ā€œpink flash mobā€ in the centre of the city! Let's give the tourists of Rome a sight they will never forget. We will be showing everyone just how pink the world really is.

But donā€™t worry, dear reader, you wonā€™t miss any of the excitement. Iā€™ll share it all with you on this blog. That is exactly why I brought you to Rome! We're about to make some magic happen! We'll dance, we'll smile, and most importantly - we'll wear pink!

Till next Wednesday!

Much Love,

Emma x
