Buongiorno, darlings! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another fabulous adventure from your favourite pink-loving ballerina, Emma! Today, I'm whisking you all away to the Eternal City - Rome! I know, I know, another European escapade. But, let's be honest, this girl can't resist a good train journey and a taste of the Mediterranean sunshine.
This week, I'm bringing you a little slice of my Rome diaries. Think ancient history, gelato-laden streets, and fabulous fashion finds - oh, and of course, some magnificent ballet, naturally! 🩰 This time, I've managed to tie in a performance at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma (imagine, performing in the same theatre that some of the world's greatest ballerinas have graced!), and I've squeezed in a ballet class, a trip to the Colosseum, a spot of shopping, and... wait for it... a Roman bath! 🧖♀️

Arriving in Style:After a very glamorous train journey from my last Italian adventure (can you even believe I'm on my second week in Italy?!), I arrived at Roma Termini station. It's a bit of a hive of activity, a whirlwind of Roman life, but I knew exactly where I needed to go - to the station's little hidden gem, the "Pink Princess" café! You guys, the entire cafe was pink! They had everything you could ever imagine in pink – furniture, cups, cutlery, even the cake was pink! This place was truly the ultimate stop for any pink-loving ballerina, and of course, I documented the experience with a magnificent pink tutu shot for you all to enjoy on my Instagram. 💖
Ballet Bliss at Teatro dell'Opera di Roma:And then, my heart skipped a beat as I approached the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma. Imagine – performing at this majestic venue! The moment I walked into that stunning theatre, I knew this was going to be a performance I would never forget. I was sharing the stage with some of the most talented dancers in Italy, and we brought the iconic choreography of 'Giselle' to life. I felt pure joy.
After the curtain call, the theatre erupted with applause, and the sense of achievement was indescribable. Let me tell you, there's nothing quite like the magic of ballet, and I was just so excited to share that with you all! Colosseum Encounters:This morning, I ventured into the heart of Roman history and had a truly magical moment at the Colosseum. Standing amidst the ancient ruins, I felt like I had been transported back in time. You can feel the power of history pulsating through those ancient stones! But don't worry, I still managed to make it extra pink. I strutted my way around the Colosseum, in my trusty pink tutu, naturally. It may be old, but you can’t deny it, this girl knows how to bring a touch of colour and sparkle to any historical site. 💅 Plus, the backdrop was perfect for a little pink-tutu photoshoot. I'm not sure if the gladiators back in the day had any concept of tutus, but I'm pretty sure they'd be blown away by this one! 😁
A Roman Bath Ritual:No trip to Rome is complete without a soak in the ancient baths, and I definitely couldn't resist. You guys, I spent an afternoon in the breathtaking Caracalla Baths. Can you even imagine? Basking in the warm waters amidst stunning marble, with ancient pillars and arches framing the sunlit sky. Truly divine! And, as you may have already guessed, my trusty pink tutu was with me – it was even more radiant under the golden Roman sunshine, and the Roman marble and fountains made for the perfect backdrop! 🛁 Seriously, a dream come true!
Shopping, Si, Si, Si:As you all know, I’m an absolute fashion enthusiast! Rome, with its endless shopping streets and independent boutiques, was a haven for a sartorial adventurer like myself. I managed to score some fabulous Italian leather boots, a stunning silk scarf (the pink one, naturally!) and, you guessed it, more pink! I simply cannot resist. The Roman style, with its bold prints and vintage glamour, has really inspired me. It's got that whole chic, elegant, but still very playful, which totally reflects my vibe. 🛍️ You guys should have seen me trying on a few new outfits, dancing around with the pinkest smile. They even had some super pretty tutus in one of the shops! But mine is still the most perfect one – it just feels right, ya know? 😉
La Dolce Vita:Rome is all about la dolce vita! You know, a little sweetness in life – savouring the moment, enjoying the food, appreciating the beautiful surroundings! It's almost like it's part of the air, part of the culture, this wonderful appreciation for life's small pleasures. This vibe has really got me thinking about my next pink-tutu adventure.
But honestly, how can you resist with all this amazing food? My evenings have been a feast for my senses, full of the most delicious pasta dishes and melt-in-your-mouth gelato! Did I mention the gelato?! I’m getting gelato with every meal. The gelato in Rome? Heaven. Every scoop was the perfect amount of sweet, creamy perfection, a delicious escape for my tastebuds! 🍨 The flavours, you guys! From creamy hazelnut to tart lemon and a surprisingly yummy raspberry sorbet – each day I felt like I was on a gelato exploration mission! 😋
Roman Reflections:As my journey through Rome draws to a close, I'm leaving with a heart full of joy, a wardrobe full of goodies, and my head swirling with inspiration for my next adventure. This beautiful city, with its captivating history and enchanting atmosphere, has truly captured my heart.
This city has the magic touch to make you believe in anything, I’m not lying! 😉 It feels like an ancient stage for your dreams to come to life! And who knows, maybe next week I’ll even be back to explore another part of this stunning city.
And now, darling friends, I’m off to a ballet class, a truly romantic ballet studio tucked away in the Trastevere neighbourhood. It’s one of the most magical corners of the city and I couldn’t leave without experiencing it! 🩰 Who knows, maybe I'll even find myself twirling with a little Roman flair?
