Pink Tutu Rome #704: Roman Holiday (and a Pink Tutu!)

Hello darlings! Welcome back to my little corner of the internet! This week Iā€™m waltzing right into your hearts straight from the Eternal City - Rome! šŸ‡®šŸ‡¹

My lovely readers know Iā€™m a sucker for a good train journey, and the journey to Rome was simply magical. Whizzing past snow-capped Alps, sipping on Italian hot chocolate (with a dash of amaretto, naturally), and dreaming of ancient ruins and delicious pasta.

Speaking of pasta, oh my, I'm in heaven! This city is a foodie's paradise. The aroma of fresh basil, garlic and rich sauces fills the air - even the rubbish bins smell good! Just yesterday I had the most incredible plate of spaghetti carbonara. You know when you find something so delicious it takes you to a higher level of culinary consciousness? That was it! And of course, I'm not leaving Italy without trying at least 5 different types of gelato!

But food aside (for a moment), itā€™s the sights of Rome that have truly captured my heart. Wandering around the Forum with its majestic ruins is truly awe-inspiring. Every corner holds a glimpse into the past, every stone whispers ancient tales. The Colosseum is simply magnificent. Itā€™s a real ā€˜pinch me, I must be dreamingā€™ moment. And, of course, no trip to Rome is complete without a visit to the Vatican. I gasped at the sheer opulence of St Peterā€™s Basilica ā€“ it was like something out of a fairy tale.

Speaking of fairy tales, the fashion in Rome is divine! Every street corner is bursting with chic boutiques. I managed to find some amazing silk scarves to adorn my pink tutus, a pair of divine ruby red heels and a stunning statement necklace. You know I just couldnā€™t resist, theyā€™re all so me!

However, no trip would be complete without a sprinkle of pink tutu magic. I know what you're thinking - ā€œHow can a tutu possibly work in Rome, surrounded by all those ancient ruins?ā€ Well, my darling readers, youā€™d be surprised! On my trip to the Colosseum, I twirled across the floor, the pink tulle catching the Roman sun like a butterfly's wings. It was pure joy, and to my surprise, the other tourists loved it! They took pictures, cheered me on, and even joined me for a few twirls!

Now, onto this weekā€™s itinerary. I have the honour of performing at the Teatro dellā€™Opera di Roma, a stunning opera house filled with velvet and marble, which will host the Italian premiere of ā€˜Swan Lakeā€™. (And I may even have an extra special surprise tutu designed just for the occasion. Shhh)

I'll be posting about that spectacular evening next Wednesday, so stay tuned for photos! In the meantime, be sure to follow me on social media. I'll be sharing more photos, delicious Italian food pics (and I might even teach you a few Italian ballet moves!)

Sending you all big hugs and twirls!
