Pink Tutu Rome: Week 730 – Exploring the Eternal City in Pink!

Ciao, darling! Welcome back to Pink Tutu Rome, your weekly dose of fashion, fun, and all things pink! This week, we're taking a twirl through the ancient wonders of Rome, and I'm bubbling over with excitement!

I know, I know, Rome is known for its timeless elegance, its marble masterpieces, and its historical weight. But darling, who says you can't be a bit pink in the midst of history? That's the beauty of this whole "Pink Tutu" thing, isn't it? We bring the vibrant energy to wherever we go, no matter how grand or ancient the surroundings may be!

I touched down in Rome last Saturday, leaving the rolling hills of Derbyshire behind for a taste of Italian sunshine. As usual, I funded this little jaunt with a few delightful ballet performances, twirling my way through a handful of graceful numbers for a local theatre troupe. Those grand jetés and elegant arabesques, they keep me on the road!

Now, let's get down to business, darling! The very moment I landed in Rome, I could feel that pink-tutu vibe buzzing in the air! My favourite colour popping up everywhere! Think fuchsia bougainvillea trailing across crumbling walls, shocking pink Vespa scooters zipping around traffic circles, and rose-gold gelato cones melting into sticky sweet perfection. It's like the city itself is welcoming me in a blush!

First stop? The Colosseum, of course! Imagine, those ancient Roman gladiators, those powerful warriors, fighting in a stadium that now houses tourists in pink tutus! It’s a fabulous collision of eras, darling, and frankly, the perfect setting to capture a truly unique #PinkTutuRome Instagram photo!

This morning, after a breakfast of heavenly cappuccino and croissants, I embarked on a fashion adventure in the heart of the Roman Forum. And darling, you simply wouldn't believe the array of designer shops nestled between those ancient ruins. Fendi, Valentino, Prada - it's like the universe is saying "Emma, girl, you deserve to dress up like the Roman princesses of yore!" (Of course, I kept my tutu firmly in place, because no true Pink Tutu girl compromises her style! ).

And what could be more Roman than shopping at the Campo de' Fiori? This vibrant market is a feast for the senses, brimming with local crafts, delectable fresh produce, and fragrant spices. The colours here are as intense as a Pink Tutu photo shoot, and I was in heaven just taking it all in.

I even managed to score a delightful pink silk scarf – think flamingo feathers, darling, a total stunner! Of course, it immediately made its way into the wardrobe for today's ballet-inspired afternoon at the opera!

Oh darling, have you ever witnessed the power of opera? The drama, the music, the raw emotions flowing across the stage – simply magnificent! It’s a whole different kind of performance than my usual ballet gigs, but the intensity of emotion, the story, the music – it's intoxicating! I particularly enjoyed the aria "O mio babbino caro" – the sheer passion, the soaring melodies, it filled my heart with pure joy! I twirled my pink scarf, mimicking the elegant moves of the soprano, and feeling the passion seep into my bones.

And as the evening unfolded, Rome’s majestic Piazza Navona transformed into a beautiful open-air concert venue, the strains of live music filling the air with a sense of wonder. You know I can't resist a bit of live music, darling! And there I was, twirling my pink tutu beneath the Roman sky, embracing the magic of this historical city.
