Pink Tutu Rome #731: La Dolce Vita in Pink!

Ciao bella! It's Wednesday, so you know what that means: another dose of Pink Tutu Adventures from your favourite ballerina-blogger! Today, I'm taking you to the eternal city – Rome!

It's been a whirlwind of marble, ancient wonders, and…you guessed it… pink! The pink, I mean. Pink has been in abundance, from the beautiful blooms in the gardens to the delicious pink gelato (yes, even my ice cream is pink!), to the beautiful sunset that painted the sky in hues of rose and lavender last night.

But, I must admit, my pinkness took a backseat for a while yesterday when I was wandering through the ancient Forum – such an awe-inspiring experience! Walking in the footsteps of emperors and senators felt incredible. It felt like history was coming to life, like I was transported back to ancient Rome! And while I usually find a way to sneak in a twirl in my tutu, even I felt that the sheer magnificence of this historical site deserved a moment of silence.

You might be thinking: "Emma, what about the Colosseum? What about the Vatican?!" Don't you worry, darlings, I haven't missed a single Roman highlight! I was lucky enough to be there for a special event at the Colosseum last week. The stage lights illuminated the arena in such a stunning way, casting long shadows and adding a touch of magic to the ancient structure. I even managed to snag a gorgeous pink silk scarf with Colosseum motifs to remember my visit – a perfect pink accent for my wardrobe!

But speaking of wardrobe, we all know the most important part of a journey is the fashion! And Rome didn't disappoint. Every day has been a fashion feast for my eyes! The streets of Rome are bustling with style. The Italians are so effortlessly chic – their leather jackets, beautiful dresses, and classic accessories – it's all so perfectly put together. But, my favourite spot for all things stylish had to be Via Condotti, the street where I indulged in my love for fashion. It's like a fashion heaven, bursting with high-end designers and shops that offer exquisite pieces. I may have bought a little something (don't worry, it's pink!).

One of the best parts of Rome? The food! Every single day is a culinary adventure. From gelato that melts in your mouth, to pasta dishes that will have you licking the plate clean, to the amazing Roman pizza with its perfectly crispy crust – my taste buds are singing! I especially loved the Supplì, those cheesy rice balls coated in crispy breadcrumbs! I even attempted to make them at my local market! It wasn't as good as the original but let's just say...pink glitter doesn't do wonders for risotto!

This weekend, it's all about embracing the culture. On Saturday, I'll be heading to the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, to watch a magnificent ballet performance. My tutus are all packed! And on Sunday, I'll be getting lost in the beautiful Borghese Gallery. This masterpiece houses an incredible collection of art and sculptures. I can't wait to soak up the beauty and capture some memories in my Pink Tutu for my blog, of course!

Don't forget, you can join the Pink Tutu Revolution, too! If you're feeling brave, why not step out in your favourite pink tutu this week? Maybe try pink lipstick? If it's not the whole tutu, then perhaps some pink nail polish? It's a fabulous way to add a touch of playful colour to your day. Remember, being fashionable isn't about being perfect – it's about expressing yourself, and being bold!

P.S. Pink Tutu Rome! If you're in Rome and you see a girl in a pink tutu with a big smile, come and say hello!

Until next Wednesday, darlings. Keep sparkling!

Emma xx
