Pink Tutu Rome: Week 758 - La Dolce Vita in a Pink Tutu!

Ciao Bella! It's Wednesday again, which means it's time for another fabulous #PinkTutuRome blog post from yours truly, Emma, the pink tutu-wearing ballerina, here to bring you a dose of sunshine, twirls, and all things fabulous from the Eternal City!

This week has been a whirlwind of historical wonders, artistic masterpieces, and, of course, delicious Italian cuisine. As always, I've been keeping a close eye out for the perfect places to add a dash of pink tutu magic to Rome's already captivating scene, and trust me, it hasn't disappointed.

From Derbyshire to the Colosseum: My Italian Adventure

Leaving the cobbled streets of my little Derbyshire village felt a little like stepping into a time machine, the kind that whisks you away to ancient times. I know, you're probably thinking "Emma, a time machine? Really?", but just wait until you see the Colosseum! The sheer size of this amphitheater, a reminder of Rome's glorious past, literally took my breath away. Walking around it felt like I was actually stepping back into those epic gladiatorial battles - just imagine, the crowds roaring, the dust rising, the glimmer of swords in the sunlightā€¦ it was enough to inspire me to create my own gladiatorial dance number - maybe I'll film it next time I visit? (Thatā€™s me, always thinking big!)

A Dancer's Dream: Ballet Under the Roman Stars

Before heading to Rome, I had the chance to see a stunning ballet performance back home, in my favourite ballet shoes, which gave me a lovely reminder of why I love this art form so much. And speaking of dance, this weekend I stumbled upon an amazing ballet class held right next to the Pantheon! Can you believe it? A historical treasure surrounded by such graceful, expressive movements. It truly was a feast for the senses! And naturally, I just had to join in. Itā€™s not every day you get to pirouette under the Roman sky!

A Fashionistaā€™s Paradise: Shopping in Rome

Rome has definitely not disappointed on the shopping front! It's like a paradise for someone like me who loves all things fashionable! From designer boutiques to quirky independent shops, Rome has got it all! And you know me, I just couldnā€™t leave without a little something special for myself - a gorgeous pair of pink heels that scream "Ciao Bella!" with every clickety-clack on the cobblestones. They match my pink tutu perfectly! Speaking of tutus, you should see all the fabulous fashion finds Iā€™ve uncovered here - they are going to inspire my new blog series ā€œRome Inspirations!ā€ Stay tuned, darlings!

Dining Like a Roman Empress

Iā€™m sure youā€™re wondering, what has this ballerina been eating in Rome? The answer: absolutely everything! I have indulged in everything from the most amazing creamy gelato, with a side of espresso, to melt-in-your-mouth pasta. I even found a charming little cafe tucked away near the Trevi Fountain, where I enjoyed the most delicious paninis you could imagine - all while admiring the iconic fountain and its incredible details.

A Final Note on Travel

This whole adventure started with a long train ride, a magical journey where I could enjoy the ever-changing landscape from my window, while jotting down ideas for my blog posts and sketching some new tutus designs. Train travel is so romantic and the perfect chance to tap into your creative side. It's so refreshing to experience different cultures and I'm just loving every minute of it!

And of course, none of this would be possible without the ballet performances that make my adventures possible. This past month, I have had the honour of performing for lovely audiences back home, sharing my passion for ballet and wearing my tutus in vibrant new ways. This allows me to follow my heart and discover the beauty of the world - and of course, bring a sprinkle of pink tutu magic everywhere I go!

That's all for this week's blog post, darlings. Until next Wednesday, keep your heads high, your tutus twirling, and embrace all the magical adventures life has to offer! Ciao Bella, from the enchanting city of Rome,

Emma xxx
