Pink Tutu Rome #763: Dancing in the Eternal City! 🩰🇮🇹

Hello my gorgeous ballet bunnies! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another instalment of my Pink Tutu Rome adventures! I'm bubbling over with excitement to share with you all the dazzling delights of this magical city!

This week has been an absolute whirlwind of pink and sparkles, from my arrival by train, all the way to a spectacular ballet show last night. You know I can’t resist a train journey - there’s something so glamorous about rolling through the countryside in a comfy carriage, lost in a good book, sipping on my tea and admiring the passing scenery. And the train station in Rome, with its grand architecture and vibrant atmosphere? A total dream come true!

Arriving in Rome felt like stepping back in time. I’m absolutely besotted with the cobbled streets, the ancient ruins, the gorgeous architecture and, of course, the gelato! 🍦 Every corner seems to burst with history and beauty, it’s simply magical.

My pink tutu has been getting a lot of attention, especially in the quaint, little shops I’ve been browsing through. It seems everyone here loves a splash of colour, just like me! And let’s be honest, my tutu certainly adds a touch of whimsical magic to the already captivating streets of Rome.

One of my favourite things about Rome has been discovering the hidden gems - charming little piazzas bursting with vibrant street performers, the most divine little trattorias offering authentic Italian cuisine, and shops crammed with vintage treasures waiting to be unearthed! And, of course, I haven't forgotten about my passion for ballet. I’ve already taken a peek at the programme for the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, and let me tell you, I'm beyond excited for my upcoming visit! The prospect of watching a live performance in such a grand venue is making my tutu twirl!

Now, for the fashion lovers amongst you, you'll be pleased to hear that my Rome shopping adventures have been spectacular! I’ve found the most gorgeous vintage hats in the Trastevere district, a new pair of pearl earrings, and a few silk scarves in delicate shades of pink and blush - perfect for my upcoming performance. Let's face it, a ballet ballerina always needs new accessories!

Tonight, I’m heading out to the Galleria Borghese for a guided tour of this beautiful museum and the sculptures of Bernini - can't wait to capture some stunning pictures in my tutu against such breathtaking art.

But before I sign off, I need to tell you about the most extraordinary event of the week: The Il Ballo della Maschera!

Yes, I got to attend a masked ball in the heart of Rome, an authentic Venetian masquerade! I found the most elegant, sparkly Venetian mask - with my signature pink feather boa, naturally. The venue was stunning, all ornate mirrors and flickering candlelight, and the music was enchanting, a beautiful mix of waltzes and lively Venetian melodies. There were so many elaborate costumes - some were historical, others playfully whimsical, and of course, some with a little pink inspiration - what can I say, I spread the love of the pink tutu wherever I go! I twirled the night away, sipping on champagne and indulging in delicious Italian snacks. It was simply magical, a fairytale dream come true!

I am completely in love with this city. Every corner, every scent, every sound fills me with a sense of wonder. Rome truly feels like the heart of Italy, a vibrant mix of history, art, and culture, all bursting with energy and life.
