#PinkTutuRome: Ciao Bella! Post 769 - 3rd March 2010

Buongiorno, darlings! It's Emma from #PinkTutuRome and it's a gloriously sunny Wednesday in the Eternal City!

As usual, my trusty pink tutu is packed, ready to whirl around the Colosseum, spin in the Piazza Navona, and twirl through the Trevi Fountain – all whilst dreaming of that delicious gelato! I know what you're thinking - "Emma, are you REALLY wearing your pink tutu in Rome?" Of course, darling! I always embrace the whimsical!

This week has been all about experiencing the magic of Rome – but I'm not just here for the iconic landmarks! Rome is a ballet-lover's paradise. I discovered the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, the most stunning opera house I've ever seen, nestled in the heart of the city, right next to the Pantheon!

Opera in Rome!

It was practically begging for a picture in my favourite shade of pink – just me and my tutu with the stunning architectural details of the theatre in the background. I even caught a performance of 'Giselle' last night! What an experience. The costumes were to die for and the music... well, I swear it brought tears to my eyes! It’s not surprising - ballet just has a magical way of making you feel.

Speaking of magical – let's talk about shopping! I have a weakness for vintage shops, you know, the ones bursting with treasures and trinkets. Today I'm heading to Via del Corso – Rome's main shopping street, to look for some seriously chic vintage finds. Imagine – a beautiful vintage dress to go with my pink tutu! Oh the possibilities are endless!

Speaking of possibilities, darling, how many of you lovely readers have finally jumped on the #PinkTutu bandwagon and treated yourselves to a pink tutu? Let me know! Every pink tutu adds another layer of colour to the world!

Trains and Tunes

Of course, a proper travel blogger has to talk about the journey itself. I can't imagine travelling anywhere else than by train, especially to Italy! There's something romantic about gliding through the countryside, watching the scenery fly past the window. I'm practically dancing in my seat, dreaming about all the sights that await me.

Before we chat about more exciting adventures, a little shout-out to you wonderful folks from Derbyshire. I've been getting a lot of love from my home county, and you know how much I appreciate it! I'm sending a virtual pink tutu wave back your way, my Derbyshire darlings.

So, as the sun sets over Rome, casting a warm glow over the ancient streets, I can’t wait to continue exploring this fascinating city. Keep your eyes on the #PinkTutuRome page - it's about to get a lot more fabulous. I'm hoping to find the perfect café tomorrow, filled with chatter and laughter and of course, the most divine pastries for my afternoon tea. Who’s joining me?

See you soon,

Emma www.pink-tutu.com
