Hello my gorgeous lovelies! 💖 It’s Emma, your favourite pink-tutu-clad ballerina, and I'm back from Rome! This is my first ever Rome trip and I can honestly say, it’s everything I dreamed it would be…plus a healthy dose of pink tutus, of course! 😉
This week, we're turning our gaze to the Eternal City. Rome, oh Rome, how I love thee! The ancient history, the stunning architecture, the delectable food… but what I really loved, was the endless possibilities for wearing my beloved pink tutu! 😜 I might have even persuaded a few locals to try on a tutu or two, so you could say this post is extra special… it's the perfect blend of history, fashion, and of course, the joy of dance!
A Quick Train Journey…and a Pink Tutu!
As a frequent traveller, I know how important a comfortable journey can be. Luckily, travelling to Italy is an absolute dream – the train journey was pure relaxation, complete with scenic views, Italian pastries, and my trusty pink tutu! 💖 (For any fashionistas wondering, it’s my newest addition – a delicate lilac tulle number, with sparkly silver accents – perfect for Roman elegance!)
This time, I’m making the most of my travels by indulging in ballet, fashion and sightseeing…all at the same time! It wouldn't be a proper Pink Tutu blog post without a little bit of everything, now would it?
Roman Ballet Dreams!
I just had to take a trip to the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma. This gorgeous opera house, nestled in the heart of Rome, is known for its spectacular productions, and I was lucky enough to catch the season premiere of "Swan Lake" - utterly divine! 😍
There's just something so magical about experiencing ballet in a historic city like Rome. The sheer grandeur of the theatre, the incredible costumes and set designs, the graceful movement of the dancers… I was absolutely captivated! And to add to the magic, guess what I wore? 😉 You got it - my very own pink tutu, of course! 🩰💖
I’ve also had the chance to explore Rome's vibrant dance scene. From modern ballet classes overlooking the Trevi Fountain to salsa workshops in bustling Trastevere, I've been indulging my inner dance diva! 💃 It’s been incredible meeting so many passionate dancers, and getting a glimpse of the city through their eyes.
Fashion Fix! 👗👠
Of course, no trip to Rome would be complete without a shopping spree! I'm obsessed with Roman style - the vibrant colours, the effortless chic, the impeccable attention to detail! And you can't forget those famous Roman leather bags!
I picked up a stunning, hand-crafted pink handbag at a little boutique near the Pantheon - a real conversation starter! 😍 It perfectly complemented my pink tutu and added just the right amount of Italian flair to my outfits.
While I was in the mood for shopping, I thought I'd also indulge in a little…tutu shopping, wouldn't you? 💖 My favourite vintage boutique on the Via del Babuino had the most beautiful collection of tulle and lace! I managed to snag an incredible mint green tutu with beaded embellishments. Let’s just say it’s my new travel companion…ready for all the adventures ahead!
Food Glorious Food! 🍝🍕🍷
Okay, now let's talk about the food! I’ve fallen head over heels in love with Italian cuisine, especially Roman delicacies like carbonara, pasta alla gricia, and, of course, gelato! 🍨
Imagine, indulging in creamy, gelato-laden cones while strolling through the ancient Colosseum with your beloved pink tutu. It really is living the dream! 🍦💖
The Pantheon: A True Work of Art…and an Ideal Tutu Spot!
Walking into the Pantheon, it was hard to tell what was more impressive – the breathtaking architecture, or the echoes of the past in every corner of the building. This truly magnificent temple had an almost ethereal feel, with sunlight streaming in through the iconic hole at the top. I just had to snap a picture, tutu in full view, of course!

Pink Tutus are taking over Rome!
My Rome adventure has been nothing short of magical! From ancient ruins to designer boutiques, Rome has captured my heart. But the true magic of my trip was the pink tutus! 🩰💖 My mission is clear – spreading the joy of pink tutus around the world. Rome’s vibrant culture is the perfect canvas for a splash of pink. And let’s face it, a little bit of tulle adds a sprinkle of whimsy to everything! 😜
And if anyone asks, I can assure you, Rome really did come alive when a tutu was added! 💖😉
