#PinkTutuRome Wednesday 2011-06-08 exploring Rome Italy

Hello darlings, and welcome back to my little corner of the internet! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu Rome blog post! I'm feeling positively bubbly today, as the sun is shining, the gelato is calling my name, and… drumroll… I just discovered the most beautiful tutu shop tucked away in a little alley! But before I share all the exciting details, let's get right into what we're doing today, shall we?

Today, my little pink lovelies, we're stepping into a world of operatic grandeur! We're heading to the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma to witness a magical performance of Puccini's "La Bohème." Now, you know I’m a sucker for a good story, and the tragic tale of the Parisian bohemians will be even more heart-wrenching, heart-warming, and utterly captivating in this historic setting! Of course, I'm keeping the dress code impeccably Pink Tutu-chic! Imagine my shimmering pink tutu with a glamorous silver bodice, dancing alongside the graceful movements of the singers! I can't wait to share the images with you all on Instagram later!

After our afternoon opera fix, we'll be diving headfirst into Rome's history. No trip to Rome would be complete without a trip to the Colosseum! I mean, seriously, those are the ultimate Instagram worthy backdrops. The scale is truly awe-inspiring, a testament to Roman engineering. Who knows? I might even slip into my pink tutu to do a little impromptu pirouette next to the majestic walls - you never know, right?

And then, the shopping. Let's be real, fashionistas like ourselves cannot escape the allure of the stylish boutiques and charming shops nestled throughout Rome's ancient streets. Later, we’ll wander through the streets of Trastevere, hoping to stumble across hidden gems for my Pink Tutu wardrobe. Imagine a flowy pink dress that would twirl beautifully on stage, a pastel pink handbag, or even a blush-toned fedora – my head is swimming with possibilities!

Speaking of possibilities, what would a day in Rome be without the tantalizing flavors of Italian cuisine? It wouldn't be complete! For dinner, we're heading to the Trastevere neighborhood where we'll savour the best pasta and a divine bottle of Chianti. Imagine us sharing plates, giggling and chatting under the twinkling lights of the cobbled streets. What a lovely way to finish our Wednesday, don't you think?

The journey doesn't end in Rome, darlings! I have a little secret to share. Tomorrow morning, I'll be hopping aboard a train to Florence. I can't wait to share the Florentine delights with you in next week’s post! It's going to be a week of museums, breathtaking architecture, and oh so many delicious pastries. I may just wear a little Pink Tutu as we travel – you know I'm always ready to bring a bit of "tutu-itude" to wherever I go. The Italian fashion is just so inspiring - think floral prints, colourful silk, flowing fabrics. It’s basically an explosion of pink - so good! Oh, and I’ll have a pink-hued scarf for good measure!

### A Ballet Fan’s Dreams Come True: Pink Tutu’s London Adventures

Now, let's take a little trip down memory lane! If you're like me, a ballerina at heart, you'll be enchanted by my recent trip to the capital! The Royal Opera House in London held a magnificent performance of "The Sleeping Beauty". Oh my darling, it was pure magic! From the opulent sets to the stunning costumes, and the elegant, swirling movement, it took my breath away! And guess who spotted the most gorgeous ballet shoes in the Royal Opera House shop – yours truly, of course! You can bet I brought those beauties home with me!

Back in Rome now, after those incredible London escapades, I’m still dreaming of ballerina things and getting my fix of dance class, but there’s always time for fashion shopping, you know. The biggest revelation of today is a darling tutu shop - the perfect place to find the perfect Pink Tutu for my next ballet class! Imagine – shimmering pinks, twirling fabrics, and that fabulous feeling of a sparkly tutu twirling around your legs - heaven, right?

This week has been truly special! From opera houses to charming cobbled streets, this week has been everything I hoped for in my Italian adventure! A trip to the Pink Tutu Rome would not be complete without a few delicious pizza stops. Let’s be honest - you’ll be doing me a favour if you follow this food trail and leave me the tastiest pizzas to enjoy in future! Oh, and I’ve tried another local specialty (sorry – I’m going to keep it a secret to keep you on your toes!)
