Pink Tutu Rome: Wednesday 2011-08-31 – A Glimpse of Roman Splendour! 🩰🇮🇹

Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink-loving, tutu-twirling, travel-obsessed ballerina, Emma, and it's time for another Wednesday adventure, straight from the heart of Rome! This is blog post number 847 – feel free to have a browse through my archive, I’ve got lots of travel fun to share with you all! www.pink-tutu.com, right here! 😉

As you know, I fund these trips by twirling my way around various stages and sharing the love of dance, and Rome has been a whirlwind of excitement so far! Today’s been particularly enchanting…

Roman Ruins and Whimsical Chic

Imagine waking up to the smell of freshly baked pastries (always the best way to start the day!), a delicate breeze wafting through the window, and a glimpse of the Colosseum just beyond the cobblestone street… this has been my reality this past week. I swear, waking up in Rome just feels different, a feeling of excitement buzzing in the air. The whole city feels alive with energy!

We took a trip back in time this morning to explore the Roman Forum – it’s amazing to see the ruins still standing, after all these centuries! It really puts things into perspective. Imagine the Romans strolling along, shopping at stalls just like we do today! Then we strolled on through the Palatine Hill and got a bird's-eye view of the Forum. Such grandeur! It was all rather inspiring, and the photos we snapped will look utterly stunning in a pink tutu, I can just imagine! 💖

Ballet by the Tiber

Now, you all know how much I adore a good ballet show! The Rome Opera House has been absolutely amazing – they are holding an Italian ballet season in their beautiful venue this summer! The costumes, the set, the dancers, everything was a sheer delight. They truly captured the passion and romance of Italian life, and the music... divine! I was captivated! 🎶 And what do you know? We caught a sneak peek of a dress rehearsal for "Swan Lake." Such elegant choreography!

The only problem is now I'm itching to try and perfect my own version! 🩰

Pink Perfection & The Fashion Fix

Rome has a unique sense of fashion, all about effortless elegance with a playful edge. The stores here have so many fabulous outfits I couldn’t help but browse through, trying on various colours, styles, and textures! The shop owners were super lovely and the vibe felt so welcoming! They seem to have all embraced the “Pink Tutu” look, it’s like the local dialect here! I picked up the most charming pair of pastel pink gladiator sandals (the perfect pairing with a tutu!), a silky lavender scarf (oh, so chic), and the softest peach-coloured cardigan that feels like a dream!

I know you all want to know exactly where I bought them – so stay tuned to tomorrow’s blog for a little shopping spree roundup, with plenty of gorgeous photos to give you inspiration! (and hopefully tempt you all to try out a bit of “Pink Tutu Style”)! 😉

Finding My Italian Escape

After a tiring (but in the best way) day exploring Rome’s secrets, I stumbled upon the most idyllic little piazza. A peaceful haven where the sound of gentle Italian conversation, laughter, and the soft murmur of a fountain replaced the bustling city noise. I sipped a creamy gelato, all pink of course (vanilla with a hint of raspberry!), watched the sunset paint the sky in hues of coral and apricot, and felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude for these wonderful adventures!

I guess this is what Rome does to you – it sparks a sense of magic and makes you feel so truly alive. Every twist and turn is filled with joy, the history whispers in every corner, and the food is divine! I’m already starting to miss this beautiful city. I can’t wait for next week’s adventure and I promise you all a real Italian treat!
