Pink Tutu Rome: Post #848 - Ciao Bella! From the Eternal City

Hello my darling Pink Tutu darlings! It's Emma, your favourite pink tutu wearing blogger, here, reporting live from the most magical city on Earth - Rome!

Yes, you heard that right. I'm in Rome, baby! And let me tell you, it's even more fabulous than I imagined. It's all marble, sunshine and incredible food, all wrapped up in an exciting whirlwind of history, culture, and stunning fashion. The Italian sense of style just oozes from every cobbled corner!

Rome is like a living, breathing, glamorous museum, full of treasures waiting to be discovered. Honestly, every single building here looks like a postcard waiting to be sent! Every doorway, every statue, every fountain is a masterpiece, and you can just imagine all the stories they’ve witnessed.

Now, I know you're probably thinking, "Emma, Rome is so glamorous! Why are you wearing your tutu? What are you even doing?" But darling, my tutus are like my trusty sidekick – always up for an adventure. Trust me, there's a certain undeniable flair about waltzing down a cobbled street, a feather boa bouncing, wearing a pink tulle dream. Let’s be honest, it wouldn't be a proper Pink Tutu adventure without a splash of playful extravagance!

This week, I had a wonderful time discovering Rome, fuelled by pasta, pizza, and gallons of gelato! The highlight was definitely a stunning performance of Swan Lake at the Teatro dell’Opera. My dear friends know I adore Swan Lake, and seeing it performed by world-renowned Italian dancers in such a historic theatre? Absolute magic. Honestly, I could barely tear myself away from the spectacle!

Of course, no trip to Rome is complete without some fabulous shopping, so naturally, I found myself lost in the maze-like alleys of Trastevere, home to some of Rome’s best designer boutiques. I scooped up a beautiful pink satin scarf and a pair of ruby-red ballet flats. Can’t a girl be spoilt a little?!

As much as I love my heels, there’s nothing quite like strolling through Rome on a beautiful afternoon in my trusty tutu. The sheer delight in the eyes of passing Roman citizens as my tutu swirls in the sunshine – it's pure joy. Maybe I should consider starting a street performance – maybe even teaching Roman children ballet?

Speaking of ballet, you know me, darling. Always a keen student! So this weekend, I spent an unforgettable afternoon at the lovely Teatro Olimpico, watching an incredible contemporary ballet performance by young local talent. This performance, combined with the history and elegance of the Teatro Olimpico, was a highlight of my Rome journey.

Let me tell you, there is something undeniably magical about the art of ballet, particularly in a city as steeped in artistic heritage as Rome. It really brings home just how inspiring and universal this form of expression is.

This week, my blog journey around Rome also saw me explore some other iconic places. I enjoyed climbing to the top of the Colosseum - what an experience! It gave me a whole new perspective on the city! And yes, I danced a pirouette or two right there at the top - who’s going to tell me I can't?

The Trevi Fountain was, of course, on my agenda too. I couldn’t resist tossing a coin over my shoulder for good luck - you know the drill! I had a little dream I’d be coming back, and it would be wonderful to come back, but who knows, maybe it’ll be Venice or Paris next?

I'll leave you now, my dearest readers, as the sun sets on the beautiful city of Rome, leaving a soft golden glow over the majestic buildings. I'm going to treat myself to some gelato (all those dance steps need refuelling!), followed by an evening strolling through the beautiful cobblestone streets with my new satiny scarf blowing in the breeze.

Remember to follow me on PinkTutu.com for weekly updates. You know I’ll be sure to show you everything. In the meantime, remember to embrace your inner pink tutu – and always keep dancing!

Until next Wednesday, my lovely darlings!

Love,

Emma xxx
