Pink Tutu Rome: Ciao Bella! 🇮🇹💖
Welcome to post number 886 of my adventures on Pink-Tutu.com! It’s Wednesday, the 30th of May, and I'm finally here in the Eternal City, Rome! I know I said I’d be going to Paris this month, but darling, sometimes life just throws you a curveball. 🩰💃 This curveball, however, came with a lovely pink ribbon attached – a fantastic opportunity to perform in Rome with a wonderful, talented group of dancers, all of whom I've met at previous shows. And who could say no to dancing in such a historically magical place? Absolutely no-one, that's who!
The train journey down from Derbyshire was so exciting. I mean, the countryside is always beautiful and I just love watching the world whiz past. Plus, I’d decided to go full-on “Pink Tutu Travel” with a fabulous bright pink tote bag that matched my new pink satin ballet slippers! I just can't help but embrace the colour and be a beacon of cheerfulness wherever I go. 💕
Now, my Rome adventure is starting in the most divine way: with a truly fabulous ballet performance at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. We're dancing "Giselle", a tragic, romantic ballet I've been dying to do ever since I saw a breathtaking performance of it at the Royal Opera House years ago.
I’ll be honest, I'm a little nervous. This will be my first major performance on an international stage, and performing in Italian is a bit daunting. However, my darling tutu, "Sweet Pea" (yes, it has a name!), will give me the extra confidence I need to float across that stage with grace and panache. 😉 You know, some people find tutus ridiculous, but they really do give you that little extra magic, don’t they? Especially when they are perfectly pink and shimmer with every pirouette. ✨ There’s no better feeling than slipping into a perfectly made tutu and feeling your inner ballerina come alive! The energy is electric!
After the performance, I'm heading for a late dinner in Trastevere, a gorgeous part of Rome filled with narrow cobbled streets and adorable trattorias. I’ve got my eye on a restaurant called La Tavernaccia da Bruno that supposedly does a fantastic 'carciofi alla romana' – artichoke hearts cooked with pancetta and herbs. Yum! I'll be sure to report back about its tastiness in my next post.
Now, the big question is: what shall I wear tonight?! This is an eternal dilemma for any ballet-loving fashionista. My bag is full of stunning dresses and sparkly tops but I’m really tempted to put on my gorgeous coral lace dress and top it off with my "Pink Paradise" feather boa. But that might be a bit OTT, even for me. Maybe I’ll just opt for my elegant scarlet A-line dress. Oh the agonies of choice! 💖😂
Stay tuned for more Rome adventures, fashion updates, and a lot of tutu-licious fun! Until then, remember: a little pink can go a long way!
