Pink Tutu Rome #892: La Dolce Vita, Pink Style!

Ciao bella! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu Rome blog post!

This week, I've been living la dolce vita in the Eternal City! ๐Ÿ›๏ธ Rome is definitely one of the most incredible cities I've ever visited. The ancient history, the beautiful architecture, the incredible food - it's all so enchanting. ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น

My week started with a train journey, and as you all know, train travel is definitely one of my favourite ways to get around. I love watching the world whizz by, listening to music, and letting my imagination run wild! This journey was no exception. I was even wearing my new pink polka-dot tutu, which I picked up from a charming little boutique in Derby before I left! (If you haven't seen it yet, you need to check out my latest Instagram post! ๐Ÿ“ธ)

Upon arrival in Rome, I checked into my gorgeous little hotel right in the heart of the city. It was just so perfectly cute! Pink walls, fluffy pink towels, and a bathtub so big I could have a ballet party in it! ๐Ÿ› I couldn't have asked for a more delightful place to call home for the next few days.

The next morning, I set out to explore. My first stop was the Colosseum, an absolute wonder of the world! ๐ŸŸ๏ธ The scale of it is simply breathtaking. It felt like I'd stepped right back in time to ancient Rome. I took a thousand pictures, obviously. ๐Ÿ˜œ

Next, it was off to the Trevi Fountain. The sound of the water cascading down was so soothing, and I even made my traditional wish for a trip back to Rome - of course, with a new pink tutu in tow! ๐Ÿ˜‰ (Fingers crossed!)

After my sightseeing, I indulged in some proper Italian food at a charming trattoria just off the Piazza Navona. Pasta carbonara, followed by tiramisu...need I say more? ๐Ÿคค I even wore my sparkly pink ballerina shoes for dinner! Because, well, why not? โœจ

But the highlight of my week was definitely the ballet performance I attended on Tuesday evening. The Teatro dell'Opera di Roma is a stunning building, all marble and gold. The show was breathtaking, showcasing incredible technical talent and captivating storytelling. The costumes were magnificent too, and I got a little teary-eyed when the dancers performed the grand pas de deux in the finale. Ballet always brings out my inner drama queen! ๐Ÿฉฐ

Of course, no trip to Rome would be complete without a spot of shopping. ๐Ÿ›๏ธ I wandered around the gorgeous boutiques, picking up some exquisite silk scarves, hand-painted ceramic ornaments, and a new pair of leather ballerina flats that were practically begging to be taken home! (You can guess what colour they are, right?)

It's now time to head to the train station and say goodbye to Rome, but I leave with a heavy heart, and a big dose of Italian inspiration for my future projects! I have so many ideas brewing - a pink tutu tour of the Vatican, a "Roman Holiday" ballerina photoshoot at the Colosseum, the possibilities are endless!

My aim in life, remember, is to get everyone wearing pink tutus. And Iโ€™m definitely going to be wearing mine all over Rome next time I'm back!

As always, thanks for joining me on my adventures! Don't forget to subscribe to my blog and follow me on social media for all the latest pink tutu updates! Until next week, ciao for now! ๐Ÿ’•
