Pink Tutu Rome: Ciao Bella! - Post #898

Hello my lovely Tutu Twirlers! It's Wednesday, and you know what that means? It's time for another Pink Tutu Rome post, direct from the Eternal City! I'm officially in love with this place. The history, the food, the fashionā€¦itā€™s all just so effortlessly chic.

Today, I'm embracing the Italian "dolce vita" - a phrase I can now confidently pronounce after all this time here (although I can still barely say 'Grazie', but hey, thatā€™s just part of the fun!) I've been exploring Rome on my own for the last week, which has been both a thrilling and terrifying adventure!

So much has happened since my last post, where you saw me shimmying in my pink tutu on the Trevi Fountain ā€“ which by the way, did I mention I threw in a Euro for good luck? (Please let it be good luck!) Iā€™ve discovered so many fantastic places ā€“ from quirky boutiques bursting with vibrant silks and fabulous dresses, to bustling street markets overflowing with ripe tomatoes and delicious mozzarella ā€“ itā€™s pure sensory heaven! And just when I thought Rome couldn't get any more enchanting, I discovered a ballet school, just a stone's throw from my hotel.

Of course, no journey is complete without some cultural exploration, right? I spent last night at the Teatro dellā€™Opera di Roma watching ā€œLa Traviata.ā€ It was divine ā€“ the soaring arias, the stunning costumes, the passionate storyā€¦ it really transported me. Speaking of transporting, have you ever taken a train journey through the Italian countryside? Itā€™s something else ā€“ rolling hills, quaint villages, charming churchesā€¦ and not to mention all the amazing local restaurants I stopped at along the way (can you tell Iā€™m slightly obsessed with food?).

Let me tell you, travelling by train has to be the best way to really soak up the atmosphere and see the world outside your usual bubble. Youā€™re not just zooming through landscapes; youā€™re really experiencing them. Itā€™s so peaceful, relaxing, and romantic.

Oh, and the fashion! Italy has certainly brought out my inner style queen. Iā€™ve been stocking up on fabulous pink items for my Pink Tutu wardrobe. (Letā€™s face it, one can never have too many pink accessories). I found a truly dazzling silk scarf at a market in Trastevere, the most incredible pair of ruby-red stilettoes that look amazing with a little black dress, and ā€“ wait for it ā€“ a perfectly-cut pink tutu that practically twirls itself!

And that leads me to the heart of it all: my mission! My journey in Rome is about discovering, inspiring, and connecting with people. Every interaction, every glance, every giggle is a little pink tutu magic. Because, I believe everyone, no matter who they are, has a ballerina inside them.

So, this week, let's celebrate the vibrant energy of Rome! Let's revel in the beauty of a pink tutu swirling amidst ancient ruins. Letā€™s explore the passion for life that runs deep within every corner of this magical city!

My next post will be all about my experience at the ballet school here in Rome! You know I canā€™t resist a chance to pirouette, and this little gem is about to inspire my next collection of pink tutu-themed outfits ā€“ I'm thinking feathers, sequins, and maybe even a little bit of velvetā€¦ (can you tell Iā€™m already planning my next pink tutu collection?!!)

So, keep your eyes peeled, my dears, and be sure to follow me on PinkTutuRome! Ciao!

Whatā€™s On in Rome This Wednesday:

  • Teatro dell'Opera di Roma: If you're looking for a glamorous evening out, the Teatro dellā€™Opera di Roma is a must-visit. They have performances going on all year round, and I know from my recent visit, they truly make you feel like a queen.
  • Colosseum: I might have gone already, but you can't come to Rome without stepping into the Coliseum, the famous Roman amphitheater that dates back to the first century.
  • Shopping: Rome is a fashionistaā€™s paradise, and with countless boutiques and shops around, youā€™ll be spoilt for choice. If you love pink tutus like I do, thereā€™s sure to be something that tickles your fancy.

    Travel Tips:

    • Getting Around: I have found the most convenient way to travel in Rome is via public transportation - itā€™s cheap, efficient, and a great way to take in the cityscape. And when you have time, make sure to jump on the Metro or a train to enjoy the scenery and truly absorb Italyā€™s atmosphere.
  • Stay Connected: Wifi can be a bit hit and miss, so download your travel guide to your phone for easy access while youā€™re on the go.
  • Food, Glorious Food!: Italy has some of the best food in the world. Be sure to try all the classics, from the rich and creamy pasta dishes to the fresh seafood, the pizza and all those wonderful pastries! (But maybe save the pizza and pastries for after all the ballet classes?ā€¦)
  • Packing Tips: When Iā€™m in a city as vibrant and charming as Rome, I pack an arsenal of dresses and accessories, comfy shoes, and lots of layers for those occasional chilly evenings. But of course, you know a Pink Tutu will be included!
