Pink Tutu Rome - #905

Hello darlings! It's Wednesday again, and guess what? Emma's back in Rome! That's right, after a whirlwind of rehearsals and performances back in Derbyshire, I packed my bags and my favourite pink tutu and hopped on a train to the Eternal City! I adore travelling by train, it's so relaxing and allows me to soak up the scenery - even better when you have a big window seat and a pink-tutu clad dancer staring out at the world with glee. 😉

This is my second trip to Rome, and I'm so excited to be back! My last visit was purely about ballet; catching up with my dear friend Silvia at the Opera house and even taking a few lessons at the Accademia Nazionale di Danza. But this time, it's all about exploring the city! From the grand Colosseum to the charming Trastevere, I'm determined to discover every hidden gem this glorious city has to offer.

My itinerary this week is a real mix of fun and fashion, as always. Today was all about the sights, so we headed straight for the Trevi Fountain. Let me tell you, seeing that in real life is a truly magical experience. It's simply breathtaking! We even had the chance to make a wish while tossing in a couple of coins. Now I’m praying my pink tutus take over the world and my dance performances sell out all year round - that's the magic of the Trevi Fountain for you!

After our visit to the fountain, we wandered around the charming streets, taking in the history and the atmosphere of the city. We even spotted a street performer playing a traditional Italian instrument, his melody blending with the buzz of the market around him. It was truly enchanting! Of course, no visit to Rome is complete without some delicious Italian gelato. So, after an afternoon of walking, we settled at a cute cafe near Piazza Navona, indulging in scoops of heavenly strawberry and pistachio flavours. My oh my! If that gelato could talk, it would be telling you to come here and sample it for yourselves.

For the rest of the week, I have plenty more planned. We'll be checking out the Vatican, including the magnificent Sistine Chapel - you can imagine the photo opportunities for a ballerina! Then it's on to the Pantheon, followed by an evening stroll around the Colosseum, a spectacle so powerful it’s worth going back to see year after year. Of course, it wouldn't be a Pink Tutu trip without some fashion-related excursions. Tomorrow we're off to explore the luxury shops near Via Condotti. You can bet your bottom dollar I'll be snapping pictures of every sparkly thing I see, looking out for the most gorgeous and luxurious outfits to feature in my upcoming dance performances. I am going to need a few pink tutus from Rome, that's for sure!

Talking about tutus, my dear readers! Do you know how much I adore the whimsical, magical spirit of these garments? I see a tutu and it makes me want to spin, leap, and twirl. They symbolise all things beautiful, whimsical and powerful, everything a girl wants to feel. Honestly, who wouldn’t love to wear one? Maybe someday, we'll all be twirling down the streets of Rome in our pink tutus! Until then, I’ll be the pink tutu ambassador spreading my love for them to every corner of the world!

But what else can I tell you? Oh, my dear, it's impossible to condense this magical city into just one blog post. So make sure you check in every Wednesday at www.pink-tutu.com, for my Rome adventures! Until then, may your life be filled with colour, glitter and a sprinkle of magic! And never, ever, forget your pink tutu!

Love, Emma x
