Hello darlings! It's Emma here, your Pink Tutu girl, ready to take you on a whirl through the beautiful city of Rome! This week's adventures took me across Europe by train (always the most romantic way to travel!) and straight into the heart of this ancient, stunning metropolis.
Oh, my goodness! From the moment I stepped onto the platform, the vibrant colours, the passionate voices, the intoxicating smell of freshly baked bread - Rome has captured my heart!
As always, I've been working hard on my ballet schedule – did I tell you I was in a stunning ballet performance at the Royal Opera House in London last weekend? The crowd was magnificent and they absolutely loved my pink tutu! It was a real hit, and it's amazing how many people get excited about spreading the pink tutu love, which is always so heart-warming.
Rome is a haven for all things stylish. You wouldn’t believe the divine shops I’ve been browsing in! From leather boots and handbags with incredible detail, to whimsical scarves and elegant jewelry, I'm positively brimming with ideas for new tutu outfits! It's all about adding that touch of feminine whimsy to my style, you know, making the ordinary sparkle with a little bit of pink tulle!
Oh, and don't even get me started on the shoes! There are shoes of all shapes and sizes, and I'm quite frankly a little lost in shoe heaven! This trip has certainly given me plenty of inspiration for future ballet class outfits, and maybe even a special tutu dress for the opening of my very own ballet school!
A Glimpse of Ancient Grandeur:
Rome is brimming with history! The Colosseum is truly awe-inspiring. Just picturing the gladiators and the roar of the crowds sends a shiver down my spine! I found myself captivated by the intricate carvings and imagining the lives of the Romans who once roamed these majestic spaces.
The Trevi Fountain was truly spectacular. The crowds were thick but it was such an enchanting sight – especially as I threw a coin into the water, wishing I could return to this magical city again and again.
My Little Roman Adventures:
My trip wouldn't be complete without some of the delectable treats that Italy is famous for!
First up, gelato! I mean, honestly, how can you resist a cone filled with layers of creamy, sweet flavours? Strawberry, pistachio, and chocolate hazelnut, of course, topped with a flourish of pink sprinkles for that extra touch of girly goodness!
I've also been savouring the most incredible pizza, with fresh mozzarella, tomato sauce and oregano, that simply melts in your mouth! The flavour is simply divine and the dough so light and airy, a real treat for any gourmand!
My Ballet Delights:
Of course, a ballet performance was top of my agenda here in Rome. Last night, I was enchanted by the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. The stage was breathtaking, the dancers sublime, and the energy truly captivating. It's amazing how different cultural styles of ballet resonate so differently. Italian ballet is known for its passion and elegance, a beautiful display of artistry and emotion that has inspired me tremendously!
My heart flutters with excitement just thinking about the amazing shows I'll witness, the divine food I'll devour, and the stunning shops I'll discover on the rest of this magical journey.
Remember, darling, pink tutus aren't just for ballet. They're for anyone and everyone who wants to embrace life with a touch of sparkle, joy and femininity!
