Pink Tutu Rome: Post 964 ā€“ Wednesday 2013-11-27 ā€“ La Dolce Vita and Pink Tutued Adventures!

Ciao bella! It's Emma here, your pink tutu-wearing travel buddy, back with another Roman escapade, direct from the heart of the Eternal City. And my, what an adventure it's been this week! From the Colosseum's grand whispers of history to the delectable flavours of a Roman trattoria, Rome has been painting the town, and my tutu, pink.

Now, I know what you're thinking, ā€œEmma, a pink tutu in Rome? Isnā€™t that a bit much?ā€ But darling, let me tell you, Rome is just the sort of place that embraces colour, flair and, yes, even a pink tutu.

Train to the Capital!

First things first, I gotta give a shoutout to my beloved Italian trains. They whisk you away on a journey through the stunning Italian countryside. Picturesque vineyards, rolling hills, and quaint villages painted a panorama of Italian charm. I found a new appreciation for train travel, a bit of a Parisian cafe ambiance on wheels, but with an Italian twist!

The Trevi Fountain's Magic

The Trevi Fountain, an architectural masterpiece that shimmers under the Italian sun. And guess what, darling? This darling of fountains welcomed my pink tutu with open arms. Yes, my tutu even found its way into a selfie or two! Itā€™s true! As I threw a coin over my shoulder (for good luck and of course, another trip back to Rome!), I couldnā€™t help but think, "Rome, you've got my heart in your, uh, Trevi Fountain, and my heart wants to come back to see more.ā€

Roman Aperitivo and a Symphony of Taste

Later that evening, a local took me to this adorable, hidden trattoria, tucked away in a bustling cobbled street. The air was abuzz with conversation, the smell of fresh basil filled my senses, and oh, the food! Mamma mia! The antipasto was a feast for the senses, overflowing with olives, cheese, and cured meats. It was just the perfect starting point for an evening filled with delectable pasta dishes, authentic Roman cuisine, and Italian wines. And then came the aperitivo - tiny plates of flavourful treats, paired with refreshing cocktails, a little something to entice your taste buds, thatā€™s the Italian way!

An Audience with the Masters: The Roman Opera

Oh, darling, last night was absolutely sensational! My heart was pounding with excitement as I stepped into the majestic Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, the grandest opera house in the city. The soaring ceilings, the elaborate chandeliers, the sheer grandeur of the whole experience - a true cultural treat!

As the lights dimmed, a symphony of sounds filled the air. The melodies were rich and soulful, the voices clear and powerful. Each performance transported me to another world, another time. The emotions running through the orchestraā€™s performance were infectious, as the audience sat mesmerized, taking in every note and every move.

The opera is a perfect example of how even the most sophisticated and elegant of experiences embraces beauty in all its forms. It shows that art, and culture, and beauty have no limits. This makes me excited for my little venture here to make the world see the joy in all sorts of beauty, from pink tutus to an Italian opera.

The Shopaholic's Dream - Via Condotti and More

Rome is a shopaholic's paradise, darling. My heart nearly leaped out of my chest when I wandered into Via Condotti. Gucci, Prada, Armani - theyā€™re all here. Oh, itā€™s a designerā€™s heaven! The high fashion of Milan might have the competition, but Rome just has so much heart! Of course, no trip is complete without a peek into some charming little boutiques.

And then there were the open air markets, overflowing with artisan leather goods, scarves, ceramics and all manner of souvenirs that capture the essence of this historical city. And who doesn't love a bit of bargain hunting, especially when it's laced with Roman charm?

Exploring Ancient Wonders

Rome's history simply vibrates in every cobblestone and every building. Iā€™m not sure you can ever get tired of strolling past the majestic Roman Colosseum. Its size and structure just take your breath away. I could just sit for hours and listen to the tales whispered by the crumbling stones of this glorious building, a testament to Rome's grandeur. Then there's the Pantheon, a marvel of engineering, that stands defiant against the centuries. And then of course thereā€™s the Trevi fountain ā€“ itā€™s really a marvel to see it up close!

My Tutu-licious Outfit

Let's talk fashion! This week's outfit is a total Roman beauty. My pink tutu, as always, the star of the show. But this time Iā€™ve added a vintage, ruffled white top, cinched in at the waist. The top compliments my tutu, itā€™s kind of a perfect Parisian meets a touch of Rome. I think this look is elegant, bold and totally romantically-themed, in that classic way!

Coming up this Week

It's not over yet, darlings. I'm still on the hunt for the perfect Italian gelato and havenā€™t even tried the traditional pizza yet, so, of course, thatā€™s my mission for this week! Also, on Saturday, the balletā€™s starting! The Bolshoi are bringing a whole season of beautiful performances, to the Teatro dellā€™Opera. I simply can't wait!

Remember, Rome is full of surprises. You never know what magic awaits around the corner, which is why I absolutely adore this city! Don't forget to stay tuned next week for another thrilling pink tutu adventure! Arrivederci!
