Pink Tutu Rome: Wednesday 2013-12-11 - Ciao Bella!

#PinkTutuRome #966

Hello my darlings! I'm back, this time with a fabulous tale of my adventures in Rome! As you know, I absolutely adore train travel and hopping around Europe in my trusty pink tutu, seeing all the incredible sights, trying new delicacies, and meeting new faces.

The Journey to Rome

My adventure started with a whirlwind train ride from my lovely Derbyshire home straight to Rome Termini - what a journey! The carriages were crammed full of people in all sorts of fabulous clothes. I think I caused a little stir with my pink tutu, but honestly, the best thing about a tutu is the attention it gets - more on that later.

The Heart of Rome

First stop? Well, it had to be the Colosseum. It’s breathtakingly beautiful, even on a chilly December morning. I can’t even imagine how majestic it would have been in its prime, packed with people for gladiatorial battles. For all you fashion lovers, picture the colour of the robes, the gleam of swords - absolutely stunning. It was then time to conquer the Roman Forum – what a great name for an archaeological park. Imagine running around here, wearing a tutu of course, being cheered on by Roman citizens.

Time for Shopping and Prosecco!

No trip to Rome is complete without a stop at Via Condotti for some high-end shopping, wouldn’t you agree? The window displays at Fendi, Gucci, and Dior were absolutely dreamy. I had a glass of prosecco, of course – bubbly is always in order.

Pizza Paradise

My search for the perfect pizza led me to a delightful little spot in Trastevere – La Pergola. A small, unassuming place that makes divine pizzas. I sampled some exquisite Italian cheeses with my pasta - I highly recommend pecorino and burrata – divine! And naturally, I treated myself to an extra-large slice of the Pizza Margherita, just the way the Italians do!

The Charm of Rome

Rome truly stole my heart, filled with cobbled streets, buzzing squares, charming piazzas, and stunning architecture. My camera was practically on fire, capturing the beauty all around me. One moment I was exploring the Spanish Steps, and the next I was wandering through the Pantheon. Every corner held another delightful discovery - a hidden courtyard, a gelato shop, or a quirky vintage bookstore.

Back to Ballet and Pink Tutús

The week concluded with a delightful visit to the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma. They are staging “Swan Lake”, oh, I just adore Tchaikovsky and that beautiful story. You know how much I love ballet. But Rome wasn't just about opera, you know! The other night, I went to the Rome Dance Center for a special ballet workshop, learning some amazing choreography that I just have to incorporate into my next performance! After all, ballet is a passion, and my tutu helps me to express myself!

A Tutu Filled Adventure

Rome has definitely earned a place in my travel heart. I love how it embraces both the ancient and the modern, and of course, it offers the perfect excuse to rock a pink tutu. In case you haven't guessed by now, it's my mission to inspire everyone to wear pink tutus. Whether you're walking down a street in your home city or discovering the beauty of the Eternal City, I encourage you to embrace the pink tutu and let it unleash your inner ballerina. Remember, you’re never too old, and there's always time to twirl!

Until Next Wednesday, my lovely darlings! Stay fabulous and remember to embrace the magic of pink tutus.

Lots of love,

Emma

Okay, my lovelies, let's talk about pink tutu styling! I got tons of compliments on my look in Rome.

  • I paired my fuchsia tulle tutu with a pastel pink cashmere cardigan, perfect for those chilly December evenings.
  • A delicate rose gold necklace with a small ballet slipper charm added the perfect touch of whimsy.
  • My trusty patent leather ballerina flats provided both style and comfort for all my sightseeing escapades.
  • And of course, my signature pink lipstick and oversized sunnies completed the ensemble, adding a bit of Hollywood glamour to my travels.

Don't be afraid to play with colour and experiment with different styles! After all, every tutu-lover knows that fashion is a form of self-expression. Remember to have fun and let your personal style shine.

Keep twirling, darlings!
