Pink Tutu Rome: #967 ā€“ La Dolce Vita!

Ciao, darlings! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another dose of Pink Tutu, straight from the heart of the Eternal City, Rome! I've been absolutely living the dream these past few days, and you just know I've got all the fashion and fabulousness to share.

This week has been a whirlwind of exploring cobbled streets, discovering hidden trattorias, and yes, you guessed it ā€“ falling head over heels for this glorious city. I don't know about you, but there's just something so special about Italy ā€“ the energy, the colours, the scent even! Itā€™s almost like a little piece of fairyland. And I've been channelling all that dreamy energy into my outfit choices, naturally! Letā€™s just say, the pink tutu has never felt more at home.

Fashion Frenzy

Where do I even begin? Rome is an absolute paradise for fashionistas. From designer boutiques lining Via Condotti to vintage treasures tucked away in quaint alleyways, I havenā€™t been able to resist a little retail therapy (donā€™t worry, my fellow pink tutu lovers, Iā€™ve got the perfect Rome-inspired outfit for you coming up later in this post!). Speaking of outfits, the other day I stumbled across this incredible little shop filled with beautiful, vintage hats and gloves. Itā€™s called "Le Chapeau Chic" - such a fitting name, right? I ended up getting myself a stunning scarlet feather boa and a vintage fascinator - it's the perfect statement piece for a glamorous evening out, don't you think?

And of course, no trip to Rome is complete without a stop at the iconic Spanish Steps. I swear, every time I go there, it feels like stepping into a movie scene. It's truly breathtaking. But for me, the best bit? Thatā€™s where I bumped into the most gorgeous pink leather handbag, adorned with an intricate silver rose design. The shopkeeper said it was an Italian designer, and when I told him I was from Derbyshire, he winked and told me, "It's the perfect accessory for a lovely lady on a Roman adventure!" He certainly wasn't wrong!

A Ballerinaā€™s Delight

Besides all the fashion and shopping, you all know my main love: ballet! You just can't have a Pink Tutu blog post without a little bit of ballet, can you?

Rome is just bursting with amazing theatre and dance. Just this weekend I went to see a production of ā€œSwan Lakeā€ at the Teatro dell'Opera. It was simply exquisite. The choreography was phenomenal, the costumes, oh, divine! And those graceful movementsā€¦ they transported me straight to the heart of the romantic Russian world. And the music! It was truly beautiful.

I couldnā€™t just sit there and take it all in though, could I? My toes were practically tapping under the chair, and you know the ballerina in me just had to move. So I went straight to a class after the show at one of the most incredible studios in Rome, ā€œBalletto Classico.ā€ The instructor was an absolute gem, full of passion and grace, and she pushed me beyond my limits ā€“ just the way I like it!

Exploring the Eternal City

Of course, Rome isnā€™t just about fashion and ballet, itā€™s about the history, the architecture, and the magic that simply seems to radiate from every corner.

We spent a day exploring the Roman Forum and the Colosseum, imagining what life was like so many centuries ago. You can almost feel the whispers of history clinging to every stone, Itā€™s a truly awe-inspiring experience that you have to see for yourself. We even walked the Appian Way, the ancient road leading out of the city ā€“ and imagine ā€“ even had a little ballet photoshoot amongst the ruins (naturally with my trusty pink tutu in tow, you see, there's no adventure complete without it!).

But the real highlight of our exploration was our trip to the Trevi Fountain. This wasnā€™t just a mere stop on the sightseeing itinerary ā€“ it was a ritual. And not just any ritual, a PINK TUTU ritual, you see! I absolutely believe that every place has its own energy, and for the Trevi Fountain, that energy is magical.

So, dressed in my pink tutu, with coins clutched in my hand for luck, I made my wish under the flowing waters, and you can bet, I did it with style! As I danced around the fountain, surrounded by the vibrant beauty of Rome, it felt like the universe was listening.

La Dolce Vita in Pink

So, what did I learn about this extraordinary city? That La Dolce Vita is more than just a catchy phrase - itā€™s a lifestyle. Itā€™s about taking your time, embracing every moment, and living with an unparalleled zest for life. And trust me, with Rome, it's truly contagious!

My fellow pink tutu lovers, this week in Rome has filled me with a million new ideas, inspiration, and oh so much pink! I've just gotta share them with you, so stay tuned ā€“ this post isnā€™t over yet! Iā€™ve got a fabulous fashion piece coming up featuring the perfect Pink Tutu outfit for a night out in Rome, complete with a how-to for achieving that chic Italian style (with a twist, of course).

But until then, darlings, keep dancing, keep sparkling, and keep living those pink tutu dreams!

Until next Wednesday! xx,

Emma. www.pink-tutu.com
