Today's blog post is extra special, because this marks my 977th post – can you believe it? Nine hundred and seventy-seven weeks of tutus, travel, and adventures! 🌎
This week I've been waltzing through Rome's historical heart, where every cobblestone whispers of emperors, gladiators, and centuries of art. And yes, even in the shadow of the Colosseum, I managed to find a spot for a little ballet class – you know I love to keep those tutus twirling!
Let's take a little journey through this past week, shall we? It’s been a whirlwind of culture, fashion, and delicious Italian cuisine. My suitcase (overflowing with tutus of course) hasn't left my hotel room this week - this is what you call a full immersion in Roman life, girls!
Rome's Fashion Scene: A Dresser's Paradise
It wouldn’t be a Pink Tutu post without a dose of fashion talk, would it? Oh my gosh, the shopping here is truly divine! My pockets may have been a little lighter at the end of this trip, but my wardrobe… well, let’s just say my tutu collection is blossoming! Rome is a city that just screams for sequins and fabulous frocks! From the stunning leather handbags to the luxurious Italian silk, I could have stayed in those shops forever. The girls in Rome have got style down to a fine art - a little black dress, killer heels and some serious Italian sass? Perfection! 👠
Ballet Bliss in the Heart of Rome
Even on a whirlwind trip, I had to find some time for ballet. Thankfully, a little internet research led me to the “Teatro dell’Opera di Roma.” Imagine: a historic opera house, beautiful, and with some of the most talented ballet dancers I've ever seen! It was magical! Seeing these professionals, graceful and poised on the stage, is seriously inspiring. The music, the costumes, the stories... oh, I could get lost in the world of ballet for hours! It just makes my heart sing! 🎼
Treasures and Travel: A Tutu Through Time
I managed to pack a whole heap of sightseeing into the last week! We saw the Trevi Fountain, tossed some coins for good luck (and good tutus!). Then, of course, there was the Colosseum, a glimpse into Rome’s gladiatorial past. I mean, come on, how many times can you actually stand in the middle of a Colosseum?! I can’t help myself, I took some tutu-tastic selfies with those ancient walls - what can I say, I had to document the experience! And no trip to Rome is complete without a visit to the Vatican. Seeing the Pope's palace, and St. Peter's Basilica is such a mind-blowing experience. It’s hard to imagine all the history that those walls hold!
Roman Cuisine: Eating Like a Queen
From hearty pasta dishes and delicious pizzas to creamy gelato and freshly brewed coffee, the food here is truly exquisite! The Italians take pride in their cuisine, and rightfully so. I sampled a truly exquisite carbonara and my oh my, the pasta is heavenly! I may just be back for a little pasta-making lesson...
Travelling in Style: The Train's the Way to Go
Okay, so I know, everyone talks about trains in Europe, and they’re right - travelling by train is simply delightful! It’s relaxing, it’s scenic, and you have a bit more freedom than flying. I especially enjoyed the scenic views of the Italian countryside. From time to time, I’d step outside to breathe in the fresh air and soak up the beauty of nature. And, as usual, I turned my train journeys into a tutu show. It wouldn’t be a Pink Tutu blog post without at least one photo shoot on the train. I might have caused a few smiles, even some stares... It's the Pink Tutu magic! ✨
Pink Tutu Thoughts: Sharing the Love
My adventures in Rome remind me just how incredible this world is, and how much there is to experience. It's like a massive stage waiting to be danced on! You just need the right tutu. I always say, life is a ballet, a whimsical adventure. Every step, every new place, is a chance to express ourselves! And guess what? I truly believe we can all do that, with a bit of pink, sparkle and a whole lot of tutu-titude!
