Ciao, darlings!
Itās Wednesday, and you know what that means ā it's time for a Pink Tutu Rome blog post! This week, Iāve been embracing the enchanting aura of Rome, a city brimming with history, art, and delicious gelato.
This past week, I took a whirlwind train ride from my Derbyshire base to Rome ā I just adore travelling by train! It feels so luxurious to be swept away by the landscape, watching the world whizz past while I sip my Earl Grey and indulge in a good book. The journey was as exciting as the destination itself.
Romeās Magic and the Colosseumās Power
Upon arrival in the Eternal City, the grandeur of Rome was instantly palpable. Stepping onto the cobbled streets, I felt transported back in time, surrounded by ancient wonders. My first stop? The awe-inspiring Colosseum, a magnificent reminder of Rome's glorious past.
The Colosseum was just so impressive. Its size is almost overwhelming. To think that thousands of years ago, people gathered here to watch gladiators fight, to be entertained by the drama of it all. It sent chills down my spine. I had to wear a special pink tutu with tiny gold gladiators woven into the tulle, just for the occasion! You know me, I always have to incorporate some fun flair into my outfit, even when exploring historical sites!
Roman Cuisine: A Feast for the Senses
Naturally, a trip to Rome isnāt complete without a culinary adventure. I savoured pasta, pizza, and the finest gelato this side of the Alps ā all accompanied by a delightful Italian wine, of course. I have to say, the pasta carbonara was absolutely divine! I may or may not have ordered it twice in a row.
And don't get me started on the gelato. Every single scoop was a masterpiece ā from the creamy pistachio to the vibrant strawberry, I couldnāt get enough of the sweet delights. And I always wear my trusty pink tutu when indulging in the city's sugary delights - pink is the colour of sweetness!
Fashion Forward in the City of Angels
My pink tutu wardrobe received a major upgrade thanks to Rome's fabulous fashion scene. I indulged in some serious shopping at Via Condotti, where the air was thick with the scent of leather and the thrill of finding exquisite treasures. I treated myself to a new pink tulle top, some divine shoes in a blush pink hue, and a sparkly handbag with delicate rose gold embellishments. This is my favourite part of travel, the fashion exploration! Rome's shops just ooze elegance, I fell in love with the feminine chic!
Ballet in the Eternal City: A Love Story
My week wouldn't have been complete without embracing Rome's passion for ballet. I stumbled upon a charming studio, tucked away in a charming alley. The delicate music, the elegance of the dancers, and the joy they radiated, simply captivated me. The students were so welcoming, even inviting me to join their class! (Yes, even I have to warm up my toes!).
I took the class in my favourite pink tutu ā what else? Iāve been working on my āItalian Ballerinaā performance. Think big leaps, powerful arm movements and lots of flowing pink tulle. It's so elegant and dramatic, I feel right at home in it! I've added in some special rose-gold and pearl embellishments just to add that extra sparkle.
The Dance of Time and Romance
One of the most magical moments came as I danced amidst the majestic ruins of the Roman Forum. As the sun dipped below the horizon, the ancient stones seemed to whisper tales of empires, lovers, and forgotten dreams. With my pink tutu flowing like a ballerina's skirt, I felt like I was in my own personal fairy tale, Rome had become my stage, and I, its dancing queen!

Whether you're waltzing through the Trevi Fountain, enjoying a sunset serenade on the Spanish Steps, or simply enjoying a glass of wine in a bustling piazzetta, Rome has a magic all its own. Let the city's captivating energy inspire you, let it stir your imagination, and embrace the beauty that surrounds you. And remember, darlings, wear a pink tutu wherever you go - a splash of colour and a touch of magic make everything just a little bit more delightful!
