Hello, my darlings! It's Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-clad travel enthusiast, bringing you another whimsical Wednesday post, straight from the cobbled streets of Rome! This week, I'm whisking you away to the heart of the Eternal City, where history whispers through every alleyway and delicious smells waft from every trattoria.
As you know, my motto is "Live Life in a Pink Tutu!", and Rome, oh Rome, is the perfect place to embrace that motto! The colours, the passion, the art... it's like stepping into a fairytale!
This week, I found myself twirling through the Roman Forum, feeling a little less ballerina and a little more gladiator (except with a tutu, of course!). The imposing ruins spoke of centuries gone by, and I couldn't help but imagine the elegant ladies of ancient Rome swirling in their flowing tunics, perhaps even sporting the occasional feathered headdress – imagine if they had tutus back then, darling!
Of course, no trip to Rome would be complete without a taste of the legendary Italian food. From mouthwatering pizzas with mozzarella so gooey it made my heart melt, to decadent tiramisu so fluffy it could make an angel cry, every bite was a celebration of flavour!
And speaking of celebrations, Rome truly has an electrifying atmosphere. The streets buzz with energy, the air alive with music, and everyone is simply beaming. I found myself completely enchanted by the atmosphere - even more than the gorgeous sunshine, if that's possible!
This Wednesday's adventure was a real treasure. The city held its breath as the sun painted the sky a stunning sunset of orange and purple, turning the Colosseum into a silhouette of golden beauty. I watched from a bridge, swaying gently like a dancer in the twilight, thinking about how much this city embodies the joy of life.
A Tutus in Rome!
This week, I wanted to embrace the "live like a local" approach, so I popped into a gorgeous vintage boutique tucked away in a charming little street, where I discovered the most fabulous sequined pink scarf. Now, I'm not saying this scarf was exactly tutu related, but it felt like a perfect little piece for adding a dash of that playful "Emma-esque" sparkle to my Rome adventures!
I think that's the magic of travel – seeing things through a different lens and finding ways to inject your own personality into the experience. Whether it's finding the perfect accessory or simply allowing yourself to be swept up in the energy of the city, a trip always comes with its own set of personal discoveries!
Back to my favourite things… Ballet!
Rome's vibrant arts scene was another highlight. As always, ballet stole my heart. I spent an enchanting evening at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, where I saw the most elegant rendition of "Swan Lake" I've ever witnessed. The dancers, oh, the dancers, their movements were poetry in motion. I was in a true dream state – the delicate costumes, the breathtaking music, the graceful storytelling; I was simply mesmerized!
Of course, a little ballerina like myself always needs her daily fix of barre and tendu. Luckily, I stumbled upon a beautiful studio right in the heart of Rome. There was something truly special about stretching and pliés in a room filled with history and character – just a touch of extra magic in my daily routine.

I'm already dreaming of my next ballet adventure. Perhaps a whirlwind trip to the Paris Opera, or a balletic journey through the cobblestone streets of Vienna. But for now, I'm soaking up the beauty and the inspiration of Rome.
