Buongiorno from the Eternal City! ā˜€ļø The sun is shining, the air is alive with the sound of laughter, and Iā€™m currently sat in a cute little cafe sipping a cappuccino (with a side of extra sugar, of course!) Itā€™s a little slice of heaven, this Rome.

And my pink tutu, you ask? It's getting its own dose of Italian sunshine. Honestly, I donā€™t think Iā€™ve ever felt so perfectly in tune with my surroundings. The vibrant colours of the city, the romantic air, the warm hospitality - itā€™s like a fairytale, but one with gelato and a dash of historical charm. šŸ¦šŸ›ļø

This weekā€™s post is all about my latest adventures in Rome. We all know Iā€™m a huge fan of exploring new cities, especially by train! There's just something so wonderfully magical about arriving in a new place with the whiff of adventure and excitement in the air. šŸš„

Now, Romeā€¦ where to even begin?! This city is an absolute explosion of beauty and history, with stunning churches, majestic fountains, and the most delicious food. I feel like Iā€™m stepping onto a movie set - each corner a masterpiece waiting to be explored. And of course, I can't forget about the shopping. You see, Rome just knows how to do fashion. The clothes, the accessories, the atmosphere - itā€™s all just screaming ā€œglamourā€. šŸ‘ šŸ‘—šŸ‘›

What I've been up to this week:

This week Iā€™ve had a wonderful time embracing the beauty of Rome:

  • My little apartment in the heart of Trastevere: Itā€™s charming and cozy, with exposed brick walls and a cute little balcony where I can sip my morning cappuccino and watch the world go by. This neighborhood is a haven of cobblestone streets, hidden restaurants and buzzing piazzas, filled with locals and tourists alike. The energy here is fantastic! Iā€™ve been discovering charming cafes, picking up fresh produce from the local market, and listening to street musicians play their hearts out. Itā€™s a sensory explosion!

  • A visit to the Colosseum: I was captivated by this historic masterpiece. Walking through the ancient passageways and imagining the gladiators battling it out just sends shivers down your spine. This really was a journey back in time. The crowds were fascinating to watch and you can just feel the history of the world in that one location!

  • Dinner at a rooftop terrace restaurant with a stunning view: I dined with a fabulous bunch of other bloggers who had also been touring Italy - there was Laura from The Shoe Addict, Liam the Fashion Guy, and Fiona from The Travel Addict. We indulged in the most divine pasta, sipping our drinks as we watched the sun sink below the horizon. We talked about our experiences travelling around Europe and they even gave me tips on the best gelato shops in Rome. Apparently there is an ā€˜authentic gelato experienceā€™ place which uses freshly made, traditional gelato, so Iā€™m going there this weekend!

  • A trip to the Vatican City: Holy smokes! It was quite simply breath-taking. St. Peterā€™s Basilica, Michelangelo's breathtaking art, the incredible history and power of the Church - it was an experience I will never forget! The basilica, with its intricate artwork and vaulted ceilings, was an emotional experience. This really is the centre of Christianity and something everyone should experience at least once in their lives!

  • Seeing "Carmen" at the Teatro dellā€™Opera: I had to. My passion for ballet shines through to the theatre! What an experience - the costumes, the dance, the storyā€¦ all a visual spectacle. Rome certainly doesnā€™t lack in talented performers and this performance reminded me why I adore ballet so much!

  • Shopping for the ultimate Italian leather handbag: You canā€™t visit Rome without finding yourself some delicious Italian leather. This week I fell in love with the craftsmanship and timeless styles of this traditional handbag shop near the Trevi fountain. I've spent hours browsing through rows upon rows of gorgeous leather bags, finally settling on a beautiful burgundy bag that I know Iā€™ll be using for years to come! Now, all that is left to do is decide what to wear it with - maybe a pale pink tutu?! šŸ˜‰

  • Trying the local street food: Itā€™s all about the food. The authentic, local delights, all freshly made. My favourite this week was supplƬ - crispy deep-fried rice balls filled with melted mozzarella cheese and tomato sauce - it was an absolute delight. It seems every corner is another street food stall just waiting for you to sample its delights, I may have to try every single one!

  • Catching a beautiful sunset from the Spanish Steps: Itā€™s true what they say about the Romans knowing how to enjoy life. They sit around the steps, eat, chat and share the beauty of the city with one another - even if it is just a moment in the sunshine. They make you stop, relax and enjoy your time. You know, they have got life figured out, those Italians! šŸ˜‰

And of course, no visit to Rome would be complete withoutā€¦ well, a pink tutu. You see, the beauty of Rome seems to beg for a touch of elegance and femininity. And for me, nothing quite matches the elegance and beauty of a pink tutu! This week, I've been rocking a stunning pink tutu with a splash of vintage Parisian chic! It's perfect for navigating the cobblestone streets and posing for pictures. (Oh, and the looks Iā€™ve been getting from the localsā€¦ Iā€™m certain I've brought a smile to more than one face). It really does fit in with this colourful and glamorous city, wouldn't you say?

Whatā€™s next?

Next week Iā€™m off to explore the art scene - the Galleria Borghese, the Capitoline Museums, Iā€™ve got a whole list of incredible galleries to visit. The culture and art here in Rome are amazing. This week was about the sights, the historical sites and the beauty of the city, next week will be all about experiencing the finer things in art! šŸ–¼ļø

Iā€™m really feeling a sense of energy in Rome. A real ā€˜live for todayā€™ kind of feeling. Itā€™s something that Iā€™m really starting to embrace. Life is too short to not indulge, not to be inspired. And what better way to do so than surrounded by all that this stunning city has to offer?

Remember to check back next Wednesday for another installment of "Pink Tutu Rome," when I will be spilling all the tea on the incredible art scene here in this beautiful city. In the meantime, stay fabulous, keep that pink tutu handy, and make every day feel like a holiday.

Ciao for now! šŸ‘‹ šŸ’•
