Hello darlings!
It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time for another Pink Tutu Rome adventure! I’m bursting with excitement to share my latest escapades in this beautiful city, and you know what, my darlings? I even had the most delightful time with my Pink Tutu today, let me tell you.
It's the 28th of May 2014, and you just wouldn’t believe how many fabulous things I’ve managed to squeeze into a single day in Rome! Let's jump right in, shall we?
Pink Tutu on the Rails
After a lovely, sleepy breakfast at the charming Hotel delle Nazioni, where my suitcase overflows with perfectly pastel pink ballet shoes and frothy tulle tutus (just how it should be, really!), I took the Trenitalia straight to Termini Station. There’s nothing quite like the hum of the station and the whizzing by of trains; such energy and excitement! My love of travel started at such a young age. Remember me and that toy train set, darling? So many happy hours were spent imagining grand adventures! And guess what? Today, my travel dreams are still coming true, right here in the vibrant city of Rome!
Tutus and Tiaras, Rome Style
And then it was off to Via Condotti, a shopping paradise just begging to be explored! Rome is bursting with charming boutiques and luxurious department stores. I can’t resist an extravagant Parisian frock, a sequined bag from a vintage designer store, or a delicate pearl necklace! But the most important detail for me? That fabulous je ne sais quoi that Rome brings to fashion! The Italians certainly know how to pull off a look! I’m completely besotted by the way they seamlessly mix classic pieces with modern accents! Today’s look was a flowing silk skirt paired with a pink (of course!), ruched silk top, and my go-to Pink Tutu in a soft lilac shade, with little sparkling sequins. A little glitz never hurts, now does it, darling? And let’s not forget the touch of royal whimsy – a tiara! Yes, darlings, a sparkling, pastel pink tiara to top it all off! Rome is simply an incredible playground for a fashionista like me!
Food Glorious Food!
My darlings, I simply adore the food in Rome! From creamy pasta dishes like Cacio e Pepe to the aromatic, herbaceous Romanesco, each mouthful is a delicious experience. The best thing is how simple yet refined it all feels – fresh produce bursting with flavor! This morning, I savored the most delightful pastry at a little cafe, a cornetto with apricot jam – simple perfection. My advice to you: Never say no to a Roman espresso! And after my pasta lunch (you know, all the energy I needed for that Pink Tutu dancing!), we strolled around Campo de' Fiori - just picture street vendors displaying vibrant fruit, baskets of fragrant herbs, and the chatter of locals bargaining. Pure joy for a ballet-loving foodie like me.
Opera Night: A Tutu and A Tune!
But my most magical memory of today came later, darling! The opera. It was divine! At Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, I felt myself transported to a different era – the opulence, the soaring melodies, the grandeur of the theater. It felt like a fairytale come to life! I don't need to say I wore my Pink Tutu again (this time, in a delicate shade of pink, just like the dawn sky as it turns to day!)! Of course, darling, I had to complete the look with ballet slippers in an equally beautiful shade, topped with shimmering silver crystals. Honestly, darlings, if you find yourselves in Rome, this place is a must. Just soak up the atmosphere - you'll feel a surge of creative energy just by being there!
Ballet Bliss
While the Opera was a fabulous treat, you can imagine my delight when later this evening, I stumbled upon a dance studio hidden on a back street. What a perfect way to end the day, darling, twirling in a beautiful ballet studio, surrounded by music! And guess what, my darlings? I even spotted another ballerina who just like me, is an absolute devotee of the Pink Tutu. Talk about a perfect night! I'm absolutely ready for another fantastic day of exploration tomorrow. The Roman sunshine is making my hair a touch blonde already!
