Pink Tutu Rome: #991 - A Dream in Pink, from Colosseum to Couture!

Hello darling dears! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another dazzling dose of Pink Tutu Rome, direct from the heart of this glorious city. I'm writing to you today straight from my little boudoir in the charming, boutique hotel near the Piazza Navona, my perfectly pink ruffled petticoat hanging temptingly on a hook. I feel positively bouffant, if I'm honest!

It feels surreal, to be in the Eternal City, just steps from the Pantheon and Trevi Fountain! As soon as I arrived, a swarm of stylish Romans buzzed around me in their latest fashions, each with a look as distinct as the cobbled stones beneath our feet. Itโ€™s a melting pot of sartorial genius, where linen pants, silk scarves, and even a cheeky beret or two meet on the bustling Via Condotti. My pink tulle tutu, I swear, looked utterly at home here. Rome loves a bit of drama!

This past week, my darling readers, has been a whirlwind of ancient wonder and flamboyant style. My travel fund was replenished after an absolutely magical performance at a private event last week - we danced a contemporary piece set to Vivaldi, and the applause was enough to make the Roman ruins sing. I think even the pigeons clapped their wings in delight! But I wouldn't have traded the energy of this enchanting city for anything!

Exploring the Timeless Wonders of Ancient Rome

Honestly, the grandeur of Rome never ceases to amaze! On Tuesday, I spent the morning getting lost in the sprawling, breathtaking Colosseum. The sheer size of it just knocked the breath out of me! I spent hours exploring the maze of tunnels, imagining gladiators battling their way to freedom amidst the roaring crowds. Of course, no Colosseum visit is complete without a spin, I took to the arena, tutu flowing, like a majestic, rosy pink warrior!

We then wandered the beautiful Forum, each crumbling pillar, each mosaic shard whispered tales of emperors, emperors, gladiators, and the most fabulous gladiatorial combats. Honestly, if I was here during Roman times, my Tutu and I would be front and center, waving at the crowd before every gladiatorial spectacle! It's just such a gorgeous place, my dears. It truly gives you a glimpse into history. I know many a pink tutu has graced these very streets!

Of course, I had to dip a toe into the Trevi Fountain. My sweet wish? That my pink tutus would find their way onto the feet of every princess, every ballerina, and every girl who dreams big, worldwide! And a few more performances at the Roman Opera house wouldn't hurt! The power of dreams and tutus, darlings!

Roman Feasting and Fashion Delights

It's not all just history and ruins, darling! I'm in the City of Seven Hills, after all! Dinner on Tuesday evening was a beautiful fusion of Tuscan cuisine with modern, contemporary flare in a delightful restaurant off the cobblestone streets near the Pantheon. The grilled artichokes with white wine, the melt-in-your-mouth ricotta-stuffed gnocchi with black truffle oil? Heavenly!

But, you know me. When Iโ€™m in a new city, itโ€™s impossible not to take in the vibrant fashion scene! Wednesday is always a special day for shopping and people watching. The energy on the streets was electric. Every single shop had something special! My bag is overflowing with handmade trinkets from the Trastevere markets, beautiful fabrics that whispered with ancient magic from the charming little shops along Via dei Coronari, and of course, the cutest pink accessories and frills from the boutique off the Piazza Navona. I simply had to buy a little pink flamingo handbag - so on trend! And my sweet love, that lace-edged petticoat just beckoned me home from the shops of Via Frattina - a true beauty.

Oh my! And guess what I spotted today in my window browsing along the way - the most darling vintage pink shoes! They fit my tutu perfectly! A touch of 1950s glamour, you could say, and oh so classic for my roman adventure! I snapped them up - perfect for all the shows I'll be seeing, and all the cafes we will be exploring. What better combination than pink and Rome?

Pink Tutu, Pink City!

Rome is alive, it's buzzing, it's bold, and honestly? It's so perfectly pink! I love this city for its endless charm. And yes, every single pink Tutu and every shade of pink is right at home. It's in the cobbled streets, in the ancient arches, and in the beautiful energy of its residents. Every turn, my dear dears, there's another adventure!

Stay tuned, because this is just the start of our romantic journey through the city! Until next Wednesday, dear friends, embrace your inner ballerina.

P.S. I leave you with a photo of the prettiest flower shop, full of vibrant pinks and purples - what more can you ask for?

Yours in Pink,
