Pink Tutu Rome: Wednesday 2015-05-13 - Ciao Bella!
#1040 - This is my one hundred and fortieth blog post, and it feels just like the beginning!
Well, my darlings, I've made it to Rome! And I wouldn't be surprised if I were the only one wearing a pink tutu in this beautiful city, but hey, that's just part of my charm! The train journey was just delightful - I find travelling by rail so relaxing and romantic. Watching the landscape whip by as the sun kissed my face - utter bliss!
My arrival in Rome was pure magic. A warm breeze carried the scent of fresh pizza, and a charming little street musician serenaded us with a tune that sent shivers down my spine. And then there was the Colosseum! Oh my! You could practically feel the whispers of Roman gladiators in the ancient stone, even today!
Let’s get on with it! What have I got planned for today?
Breakfast: A delicious Italian pastry followed by the best latte in the world. Did I tell you, I LOVE coffee?! But, to be fair, a lot of things excite me about Rome! Like the fantastic food.
Fashion Frenzy: I just HAVE to visit that gorgeous little vintage boutique on Via del Corso. Apparently they've got some truly stunning Italian creations. You just never know what you might stumble upon!
A Feast for the Senses: The Roman Forum beckons. Who doesn't love a good bit of history, especially when it looks so unbelievably impressive?! I'm excited to feel the echoes of centuries gone by and learn about all the wonderful characters that called this city home. I've read a few good history books and watched several documentaries on Rome to prepare myself, I’m a very meticulous ballerina! I hope there will be a chance to see a ballet performance!
Ballet Beauty: I am heading to see the divine 'Giselle' performed at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma tonight! I absolutely love ballet, it is just so expressive and captivating. Oh! And then of course, there will be shopping. I've spotted some incredible ballet shoes on a website - can you believe it? Imagine, wearing a pink tutu with ballet flats on...it's genius!
Dinner Time: Later on, a delicious Italian feast! I hear the pasta is incredible, and there are more pizza restaurants than I can count - I can already hear my tummy rumbling just thinking about it! I hope they have a large enough table so I can twirl around and take a few pictures!
A Little Evening Inspiration: After dinner, we're going to have a wander around Trastevere. The colourful buildings are going to be a riot of colour for the eyes - like a perfect tutu-inspired fashion collection!
A Bit of Fun: Did you know there are more than 900 fountains in Rome? It seems so decadent and enchanting! Imagine the water swirling and dancing, and oh, it looks absolutely dreamy to boot. I'll make sure to take pictures with each and every one of them, in my gorgeous pink tutu!
And there you have it!
That is my Roman odyssey for the day. Now, I must be off, my friends! But before I go, let's not forget my pink tutu mission! It is more important now than ever. I just feel it! I urge you to embrace your inner ballerina! Throw on your most beautiful tutu (pink, of course!) and dance to the rhythm of your own life.
Until next week, dear readers!
Much love,
Emma

PS I'm still looking for the most incredible pink tutu to add to my collection! So, if you happen to stumble upon anything particularly amazing, please send me a photo!
PPS Do you think a pink tutu and ballet flats are appropriate for a trip to the Colosseum? Hmm… Decisions, decisions. But hey, there's always a ballet somewhere.
P.P.P.S I am currently learning a new ballet sequence from Giselle, I think I will try out the steps around the Spanish steps… wouldn't that be so dreamy?!
