Oh, Italy, you truly are a land of enchantment! As I step off the sleek Italian train and inhale the intoxicating scent of freshly baked bread mingling with the aroma of jasmine, I feel like a princess in a fairytale. My heart is doing pirouettes in my chest, and the urge to twirl is simply irresistible! I think even the pigeons are swooning over my bright pink tutu and cherry-red heels – after all, what's a trip to Rome without a touch of flair?
This week marks my tenth consecutive Wednesday dedicated to sharing my adventures in this captivating city. Rome, you've stolen my heart! With its breathtaking architecture, rich history, and oh-so-delicious food, every corner I turn presents a new photo opportunity – not to mention a new ballet-inspired outfit! This week I've been exploring the grandeur of the Colosseum, feeling like a true gladiatorial ballerina. And you won't believe what I stumbled upon yesterday! A street performer, complete with a perfectly twirling tutu and dazzling sequin leotard, was captivating a small audience. It was magical – even the tourists forgot to whip out their phones and snap photos, they were so engrossed! It reminded me why I do what I do. Ballet is a universal language that unites us all!

Roman Rhapsody:
Rome has been overflowing with exciting happenings since I arrived! Let's just say my ballet schedule has been bursting with rehearsals, workshops, and even a special charity performance – the perfect way to blend my passion for ballet with a sprinkle of giving back. Plus, I got to wear a brand-new pink tutu for the performance, specially designed with tiny pearls around the hem, of course!
My performances are my bread and butter – how else could a girl like me afford to chase her dream of spreading the pink tutu love all over the world? I'm determined to prove that ballet is accessible to everyone, even in a glamorous, exciting city like Rome! My favourite performances are often those where I dance for the locals, their faces beaming with awe and appreciation for this delightful art form.
The Ballet Life:
But ballet isn't the only thing I love! In Rome, the shopping is phenomenal, a true ballerina's paradise! Imagine: exquisite silk fabrics perfect for creating new costumes, fabulous footwear to add that extra pizazz to my performances, and, of course, the perfect pink tutus to complement my every mood. My personal motto: "If in doubt, twirl it out!" and this applies to shopping as much as anything else!
As a ballerina with a passion for travel, Rome is a real dream! It's a city steeped in history, brimming with artistic wonders and a delightful mix of vibrant, stylish personalities. Oh, and let's not forget the gelato! Every scoop of creamy goodness makes me twirl with joy. You could say I'm officially hooked! I've already eaten more gelato in a week than I have in a year! But it’s just SO good! And the flavour options…it's a ballet dancer’s dream, every scoop a delightful choreography of sweet deliciousness! My current favourite is pistachio with a hint of almond – divine!
Tutu Time:
Today's blog post has to feature my latest pink tutu creation. You won't believe what inspired it! Last night, I saw a breathtaking sunset over the Colosseum, the golden light transforming the ancient structure into a magnificent masterpiece. So I went into my trusty sewing room and voila – a glorious tutu, blending soft shades of pink with shimmering golden thread to capture the ethereal beauty of that Roman sunset. I can already see myself performing with this tutu in some grand venue, the stage lights mimicking that captivating twilight glow. It’s the perfect embodiment of Roman glamour, a vibrant reminder of the magic I'm living in right now!
What's on today?
Well, my lovelies, today is a day dedicated to all things fabulous! First, I'm heading to a ballet class, teaching some of the locals some simple, graceful moves – spreading the tutu love, you see! Then, after a hearty Italian lunch with my new friend, a talented young dancer who dreams of performing in the opera house, I'm off to explore the beautiful gardens of Villa Borghese. Can you imagine? A picturesque stroll, with pink tutus billowing in the breeze! Pure balletic bliss! And don't even get me started on the views from the gardens – breathtaking doesn't even begin to describe them.
