Pink Tutu Rome: Post #1042 - "Ciao Bella! It's a Pink Tutu Paradise"

Ciao, darlings!

It's Emma here, and it's Wednesday which means… it's Pink Tutu Rome day!

This week I'm in the Eternal City, Rome. Let me tell you, this place is seriously dreamy! Think cobbled streets, magnificent architecture, stunning piazzas, and oh-my-goodness-me, the food!

Now, if you're picturing me twirling around the Trevi Fountain in a fluffy pink tutu, well, I'm sorry to disappoint you (not really!), but the cobblestones aren't exactly tutu-friendly. Don't worry, I’m still channeling my inner ballerina - it's all about the elegance and grace, right? 😉

Before we delve into the Roman adventures, let's talk travel! For my trip to Italy, I chose to hop on the Eurostar from Derbyshire (my lovely home county). Nothing beats that sleek, silver bullet speeding you through the continent – talk about a magical journey! Of course, I was in my favourite pink tutu, and naturally, I drew a few curious looks on the train. My motto is: "Live your life in a tutu! It's all about making a statement, even on public transport." 😉

Rome welcomed me with open arms… well, maybe open cafe tables and stunning sunsets! Speaking of cafes, I've already found the most divine little spot in Trastevere - think twinkling lights, ivy-covered walls, and delicious pasta dishes. And you know what I wore? A stunning pale pink tulle dress with a touch of glitter and some chic ballerina flats, of course!

Wednesday Wonders: A Peek into My Roman Diary

I love to start my Wednesday's with a cappuccino, a delicious treat that’s become a favourite while I’ve been travelling! Today’s cappuccino was in the heart of Trastevere, surrounded by beautiful old buildings, fountains and cute little alleyways, this part of the city really is a photographer’s dream!

This afternoon I ventured into the Roman Forum - this incredible site, filled with history, truly took my breath away. Seeing the Coliseum up close, well, that was a real pinch-me moment. Imagine the sheer energy of that arena back in the day, packed with gladiators and the roaring crowds. The thought sends chills down my spine!

As the evening falls over Rome, it was time for my favourite part of any city exploration - a ballet show! The Teatro dell'Opera di Roma was absolutely exquisite! I'd snagged some tickets for "La Sylphide", and it was magical.

The music was incredible, and the dancing was simply breathtaking. There's something so mesmerizing about seeing ballet come alive on stage. The stories they tell, the emotions they express through movement – it's art in its purest form! It also served as a much-needed dose of inspiration. Seeing other ballerinas effortlessly gliding across the stage definitely set my heart racing with the desire to go and have a long, long dance session on the dance floor!

A Bit of Retail Therapy & Ballet Finds

No Roman escapade would be complete without a touch of retail therapy! You know I love my ballet shops - I always head to the Galleria Alberto Sordi, home to some of the most beautiful boutiques in the city. And I'm absolutely thrilled to tell you, I found the most amazing pink tutu in "La Ballerina", the iconic ballet shop, tucked away on Via Condotti. A pale pink, cloud-soft tutu, with the most delicate floral details and a whisper of sparkle. Just a little treat for myself!

And how could I forget about those delectable Italian shoes? I was in seventh heaven wandering around the cobblestone streets, slipping on and off some stunning pumps. Luckily, there is no such thing as a ballet-themed shoe too many, I even snagged myself a new pair of silver pointe shoes – perfect for adding a little extra sparkle to my outfits! I'll post about my Italian ballet haul later on this week!

"The World Needs More Pink Tutùs"

Don't you just love this city? I think Rome is simply enchanting. Every corner you turn unveils something new - an ancient ruin, a quaint little café, or an awe-inspiring fountain. And the food, well, the food is to die for! From the fresh pasta and pizzas to the creamy gelato, my tastebuds have been doing a happy dance.

Remember, everyone, my goal is to inspire everyone to embrace a little bit of pink and twirl into the world with confidence! Whether it's a bright pink scarf, a subtle pink top, or even a tiny pink bow in your hair - don't be afraid to add a touch of sparkle and colour to your everyday life!

And, as always, don't forget to stay tuned for my next Pink Tutu Rome post, coming to you next Wednesday!

Love and twirls, Emma xoxo
