Pink Tutu Rome: #1054 - Wednesday 19th August 2015

Ciao bella!

Well, it's finally here - my Rome blog, #1054, a dream come true for this tutu-wearing, ballet-obsessed gal! I can hardly believe I'm in the heart of Italy, exploring its magnificent history, indulging in the most amazing pasta and pizza (I swear, they melt in your mouth!), and of course, taking in the incredible architecture and stunning piazzas.

You all know I love a good train journey, and my ride down from Derbyshire to Rome was an absolute delight. I was serenaded by the beautiful Italian countryside whizzing by - olive groves, vineyards, and even a few quaint villages, it felt like a scene straight out of a movie. And of course, no train journey is complete without my trusty pink tutu peeking out from my suitcase!

Landing in Rome was like stepping into a fairytale. The air was thick with history and energy, the streets buzzed with locals and tourists alike. The moment I caught sight of the Colosseum, I felt a little flutter in my heart - it was even grander than I imagined, a testament to the Romans' architectural brilliance.

Fashion in the Eternal City:

The first thing I noticed about Rome was its fashion - oh, so stylish! Everyone looked fabulous, with a nonchalant air of chic. It’s definitely inspiring my inner fashionista.

Of course, no trip to Rome would be complete without some serious shopping. I've been eyeing up some stunning Italian designer pieces – there are so many chic boutiques and leather shops just bursting with beautiful items! I am definitely keeping an eye out for a new pink outfit - because you can't go to Rome and not embrace the Italian love of bold, beautiful fashion!

I’ve also stumbled upon some amazing antique shops with gorgeous vintage jewellery and accessories. I managed to snag a pair of vintage earrings with a beautiful little pink cameo – how could I resist?

Dancing in the Shadows of Ancient Wonders

Even though I'm soaking up the Roman sun and stunning views, my love for ballet is always at the forefront. Yesterday, I stumbled upon a delightful ballet studio tucked away in a quiet alley, surrounded by towering Roman buildings. I'm not sure what was more impressive - the studio's charming decor, or the incredible Italian ballerina teaching a masterclass! My toes were aching for those beautiful pirouettes, so I signed myself up for a quick session.

Just the thought of a classical Italian ballet performance fills me with such joy! This evening, I'm heading to the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma to see "La Traviata." I’m dying to see how the setting and music are woven together to bring the story to life!

The Roman Spirit and Spreading the Pink Tutu Love:

It's truly amazing to see the passion and the joy the Romans take in their lives - in their food, their culture, and even in their style. They know how to celebrate and make the most of every day. They embrace life with open arms, a little bit of pizzazz, and a dash of passion.

And this spirit inspires me to do the same! I hope that through my blog, I can spread the pink tutu love – reminding everyone to embrace their own individual style and express themselves freely. If Rome inspires people to be themselves, then I can imagine that pink tutus might even become part of the Italian fashion scene!

Rome: A City of Wonder

Today, I'm taking a guided tour of the Roman Forum. I can't wait to explore the ruins of temples and palaces, walk in the footsteps of gladiators, and learn about the incredible history of this ancient civilisation. I'll be sure to update my blog with the highlights, along with some more fantastic photos, so you can join me on this journey!

Until Next Wednesday:

I hope this glimpse into my Roman adventure has filled you with wanderlust, dear readers! Don't forget to pop back next Wednesday for another Pink Tutu Rome post. And in the meantime, do spread the love! Let's see if we can convince a few more people to try wearing pink tutus! Until then, keep on dancing, keep on shining, and keep the pink spirit alive.

Ciao, bella!

Love, Emma
