Travelling in Style: The Joy of the Train
As many of you know, I love the thrill of train travel. There’s something so elegant and exciting about leaving your worries behind and whizzing through the countryside – especially when you’re dressed for the occasion! This time, I packed my favourite pink tweed travel outfit, complete with a statement hat and, of course, a tutu – because why wouldn't you rock a tutu on a train journey? 😜
The Eurostar took us through the Alps and into Italy, a scenic journey punctuated by beautiful views, and the charming chatter of fellow travellers. Even the food cart couldn't resist my pink charm, and they served me a perfectly pink strawberry and cream tart with a side of twinkling tea lights.
Rome – Oh Rome, You're So Dramatic!
Arriving in Rome was like stepping into a time machine! Cobbled streets, ancient buildings, vibrant colours – it's truly captivating. And the locals, they just ooze effortless style – think perfectly tailored linen suits for the gents, and fabulous floral prints for the ladies. I might have had to subtly add a little pink here and there – some eye-catching lipstick or a strategically placed scarf. Because a little pink can liven up any outfit, and certainly any city!
A Ballerina's Delight: Teatro dell'Opera di Roma
Now, Rome wouldn't be complete without a touch of ballet, right? On this special night, the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma put on a stunning performance of 'Giselle', and you know I was front row, tutu and all. The entire auditorium was a burst of colour, the costumes a swirl of decadent fabrics, and the dancers, oh the dancers, were truly magical! Their effortless grace and beautiful choreography moved me to tears (a little bit of happy crying, naturally!)
Fashionable Finds: Via Condotti
If you love the finer things in life – I’m talking exquisite shoes, glamorous gowns, and accessories that could make a queen blush – then you have to head straight to Via Condotti. It’s Rome's very own Fifth Avenue, overflowing with designer boutiques and extravagant displays. It's the perfect place to let your inner fashionista run wild. I confess, I may have purchased a little something – a stunning pink sequined clutch to add a bit of glitz to my Rome wardrobe! And if it was good enough for Audrey Hepburn, it's good enough for me. 😉
Pizza, Pasta and Pink: An Italian Feast
Let's be real, what's a trip to Italy without enjoying some delicious, authentic food? We feasted on fresh pizzas topped with local cheeses and herbs, sampled delicate pasta dishes with creamy sauces, and indulged in creamy gelato drizzled with delicious fruit coulis. It was a culinary adventure!
Pink Tutu Street Performances
Who needs Broadway when you have Rome, darling? Every night, the streets come alive with music, laughter, and street performers. We even stumbled upon a group of ballet dancers in full costume performing 'Swan Lake' amidst the twinkling lights and lively music of a local pub. Now that's what I call unexpected entertainment!
Pink Tutu Memories: A Rome To Remember
This trip to Rome has been truly magical. It's a city of art, history, romance, and of course, delicious food! Every corner, every alleyway, and every hidden courtyard offered something new to discover and enjoy.
As always, Rome reminded me to appreciate the beauty of life, to embrace spontaneity, and to wear my tutu with pride! After all, the world needs a little more pink in it, and why shouldn’t we all be our own kind of fabulous ballerina, wherever life takes us?
