Buongiorno, darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu-wearing ballerina, Emma, bringing you the latest from the fabulous city of Rome! I've been soaking up the sun, the culture, and of course, the gorgeous fashion, and let me tell you, Rome is a total feast for the senses.
This week has been a whirlwind of exploration and excitement! As I always say, there's no better way to truly experience a new city than on foot, so I've been skipping and twirling my way through the charming cobblestone streets.
The Beauty of Rome
Rome, oh Rome, how I love thee! This city is truly magical. The ancient ruins, the bustling piazzas, the incredible food – it's a dream come true for a fashion-loving, history-obsessed, ballerina-at-heart like me! I mean, imagine, walking through the Colosseum, picturing gladiators battling it out centuries ago! Then there's the Trevi Fountain, where I practically begged for a second pink tutu! Okay, I just tossed a coin over my shoulder like everyone else, but wouldn't a second tutu be amazing?!
The air in Rome is filled with a tangible sense of history, a whisper of emperors and gladiators, of artists and poets. It's like you can literally feel the weight of time pressing down on you, but in a beautiful and exciting way!
Shopping, Shopping, Shopping
One thing I have to confess is that, like any true ballerina, my weak spot is … you guessed it … shopping! I’m not shy to admit it, a pair of sparkly ballet flats, a flowy pink dress, or a gorgeous sequin-encrusted bag are like crack for my soul. Rome, being a fashionista’s paradise, has presented a dazzling opportunity to indulge my shopping addictions!
I spent a whole afternoon wandering the high-end boutiques in the Via Condotti, swooning over designer shoes and clothes. You can’t help but be swept away by the incredible window displays, each one like a miniature masterpiece! Even though I might not be able to quite afford that pair of Manolos, I could at least dream about them, right?
Ballet Bliss
My travels, however, aren’t just about the glamorous shopping! The main reason I can afford to travel around Europe like this, in style, is the magic of dance. I was thrilled to stumble across a beautiful theatre here in Rome hosting a stunning performance by a company of local dancers! Their passion was so moving and inspiring! They took me to a magical world, with breathtaking movements and elegant costumes. I’ve already been back to another performance, and I even had the chance to see some local ballet classes, so inspiring!
My Pink Tutu and the World
While I can’t guarantee that Rome will turn everyone into a pink tutu wearer, the vibrant energy of the city has inspired me to spread the tutu love even further. It’s something I've been trying to do everywhere I go, one pink tutu at a time! This week I’m thinking of visiting some schools and community centres around Rome. It’s important to me to share the joy of ballet, the magic of dance, and hopefully encourage everyone to embrace their own unique style!
