Pink Tutu Rome: Post #1092 - Bella Italia, Here We Come!

Ciao, darlings! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for your weekly dose of Pink Tutu travel adventures. This week, we're venturing to the Eternal City - that's right, Rome! My pointe shoes are practically quivering with excitement.

You guys know I'm a huge fan of train travel, and this trip is no exception. I packed my favourite pink luggage (of course) and boarded a gleaming Eurostar train, feeling every bit like a chic Parisian on her way to the Italian Riviera. I even spotted a charming gentleman in a dapper suit with a little ballerina painted on his cufflinks! Such a delightful touch.

The City of Seven Hills

My Rome adventures kicked off with a whirl around the Colosseum. I couldn't resist twirling a little pirouette on the ancient stones, channeling my inner Roman gladiator with a hint of pink ballet. Can you picture it? The majestic ruins, the soft sunlight, and me, in a blush pink tutu, leaping through the centuries. Magnifico!

Then, a leisurely stroll through the charming cobbled streets of Trastevere. It's bursting with quaint boutiques, cafes brimming with the scent of fresh espresso, and gelato shops with every colour imaginable! (Think rainbow sorbet! My taste buds are doing the happy dance). I snagged a gorgeous vintage silk scarf for my grandmother. It's lavender with gold butterflies - such a sweet gift for her birthday!

Of course, no trip to Rome would be complete without a visit to the Vatican. The Basilica di San Pietro is truly breathtaking, and the sheer scale of the Sistine Chapel left me utterly speechless. It's like stepping into a masterpiece.

A Little Fashion and Ballet in Rome

Who can resist the lure of Rome's stylish shops? I popped into a few local boutiques and found a beautiful emerald green chiffon skirt - perfect for a Roman night out! Imagine it paired with a blush pink top and my go-to ballet flats - it's going to be a look!

And for some ballet bliss, I visited the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, which has a stellar programme of performances. Tonight, I'm seeing the legendary "Swan Lake". I can already picture the shimmering costumes, the passionate music, and the graceful dancers. Oh, I can't wait!

Roman Nights

The sun dipped behind the city, painting the sky with hues of orange and pink. We wandered through the Piazza Navona, marveling at the artistry of the street performers. A little boy even serenaded me with a sweet, off-key rendition of "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" It was adorable.

Tonight, we dined on traditional Roman pasta with a view of the Pantheon. Imagine a perfectly twirling plate of pasta, bathed in the golden glow of the Pantheon's dome! You wouldn't believe the delicious smells in the air. This is the life!

Pink Tutu Mission Continues!

As I sat here in my hotel room, gazing out at the glittering night lights of Rome, I had a thought: I want everyone to wear a pink tutu! I know it sounds a little crazy, but just imagine it โ€“ pink tutus dancing across the globe! Imagine the joy and wonder! It's an audacious goal, but I believe it's possible! I'm going to spread my Pink Tutu love all over the world.

One tutu at a time!

See you next Wednesday for more Roman adventures! And remember, darlings:

Live, love, and twirl with abandon!

Yours in pink,

Emma xx
