Pink Tutu Rome: #1147 - Ciao Bella, Rome!

Buongiorno, darling readers! It’s your favourite tutu-wearing travel enthusiast, Emma, back with another fabulous adventure, this time from the enchanting city of Rome! Today, Wednesday, May 31st 2017, I'm channeling my inner Audrey Hepburn, twirling through the cobblestone streets, my pink tutu adding a dash of playful charm to the Roman scenery.

Rome truly is a city that embodies timeless beauty. It’s the kind of place that feels both familiar and exotic all at once – think crumbling Roman ruins whispering ancient tales, cobblestone alleyways echoing with the lively hum of street performers, and buzzing markets bursting with fragrant cheeses, colourful spices and plump peaches. And then, there’s the gelato, oh my, the gelato! You wouldn’t catch me leaving Rome without indulging in scoops of creamy, decadent gelato – every flavour a delightful discovery.

Today's agenda is filled to the brim with cultural delights! First, I'm diving into the breathtaking world of the Vatican Museum. As a lifelong admirer of the Renaissance, I can’t wait to stand before the exquisite works of Michelangelo, gaze at Raphael's masterpieces, and get lost in the sheer brilliance of this historic art treasure trove. The Sistine Chapel? Prepare to be mesmerised, darling readers!

Of course, no Roman adventure would be complete without a stroll through the iconic Colosseum, a majestic monument to Roman history and architecture. I’m picturing myself waltzing into the Colosseum’s ancient heart, the sun setting behind me, the wind whipping through my pink tutu. Sighs dreamily It’s the stuff of ballerina dreams, really.

After all the history and art, we're off to indulge in some delectable Italian cuisine at one of Rome’s hidden gems – a tiny trattoria I found tucked away down a charming, winding alleyway. I hear it’s known for its delicious pasta dishes, prepared using the freshest, most local ingredients – I’m dreaming of creamy carbonara, perfectly al dente penne alla vodka, and mouthwatering pasta with fresh seafood.

Later this evening, a true theatrical treat awaits! I’m eagerly anticipating a performance of La Traviata at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma – a classic masterpiece that’s sure to captivate with its poignant storyline, sweeping score, and the sheer dramatic talent of the cast.

For the past few weeks, I've been practising some pirouettes inspired by La Traviata – nothing like a bit of graceful ballet to boost my mood! It’s just another reason I adore the transformative power of dance.

I'm so excited to share this whirlwind journey with you all, my beloved readers! Stay tuned for all the fascinating discoveries, inspiring moments, and beautiful photos coming from Rome! It’s all here at www.pink-tutu.com – pop in once a week, on Wednesday, and see how we’re spreading the pink tutu love around the world.

So, are you ready for an enchanting voyage through the city of love? Join me on this whimsical Italian adventure – ciao bella, and keep those pink tutus twirling!
