Pink Tutu Rome: Ciao Bella! #1189
Ciao from Rome! The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and I'm officially obsessed with this city! I've been twirling through the cobbled streets of Rome for a few days now, and already, I can see why it's so incredibly magical. The ancient ruins, the vibrant colours, the delicious food, and the most amazing Italian style ā Iām utterly charmed!
Itās hard to believe itās been almost a week since I boarded the train in London, leaving behind the familiar sights of Derbyshire. Oh, how I love train travel! The feeling of leaving everything behind and knowing that a new adventure awaits, itās absolutely electric! I even managed to squeeze in a quick ballet class in London's Covent Garden before catching the Eurostar, just to get that beautiful feeling of grace flowing through me. My trusty pink tutu (naturally!) came along for the ride ā how else would I stand out against a sea of grey suits?
I arrived in Rome feeling refreshed, revitalised and ready for some Italian magic! Iām staying in a tiny but charming little hotel just off the Spanish Steps, and my room is totally on theme! You know I love pink, and this hotel is just bursting with it! Think pastel pink walls, delicate floral fabrics, and a fluffy pink rug on the floorā¦ Iāve hardly left my room all day, itās just so adorable!
But I have to admit, itās time for a bit of Roman adventure! Tonightās agenda: a show at Teatro dellāOpera! Youāre probably wondering what my go-to outfit was? Oh darling, it wouldn't be a Pink Tutu blog without a tutu. A simple but elegant pink tulle skirt, paired with a classic white silk blouse and some sparkly pink heels. Who says you canāt wear pink after a certain age? Just remember: pink is not just a colour, it's a way of life! And it definitely has a place in the opera house!
Speaking of ballet, I've been getting into the spirit of Romeās love for art and beauty with a few visits to the Galleria Borghese. Honestly, those incredible statues of ancient Roman deities almost have me thinking about putting together a "classical goddess" tutu collection for my next line! Imagine it: flowing fabrics in ivory and gold, with dramatic sweeps and elegant detailing. The Roman influences are just brimming with ideas, Iāve got so many new creations already swirling in my mind!
Rome has really captured my heart, and itās so inspiring. There are just so many beautiful things to see, from the iconic Colosseum to the cascading fountains of Trevi. And itās not just about the ancient architecture either ā the streets are lined with vibrant flowers and beautiful Roman-style courtyards full of delicious smells. There are gelato stands on every corner, charming trattorias serving the most delectable pasta dishes, and the streets are overflowing with leather handbags and sparkling Italian jewellery! You see, darling, Rome really does have it all.
For a break from the sightseeing, Iāve found a cute little cafĆ© thatās become my new favorite place. The perfect combination of charming decor, delicious espresso and heavenly cakes. Who knew caffeine could be so beautiful? I think I could stay here for days. In fact, I probably will! My little break from the bright lights of the stage has allowed me to refocus on what truly inspires me. I canāt wait to bring my own little brand of āpink tutu magicā to these enchanting streets.
Of course, you know me, and you know I love nothing more than indulging in a bit of retail therapy! And what better place to do it than Rome, the city of fashion? I've been eyeing up some amazing designer dresses and shoes in the luxurious shops of Via Condotti.
My visit to the Eternal City is shaping up to be an incredible experience, full of glamour, grace and, of course, a dash of pink tutu magic! The streets of Rome are ready for me, and I canāt wait to share the next adventure with you all. Until then, keep those tutus twirling and always remember to let your light shine, darlings!
Love, Emma

They call it Roma Capitale day, and I can't wait to explore some of the celebratory events, I'm hoping for an impressive ballet performance at the Trevi Fountain, now wouldn't that be fabulous? And of course, a delightful pink themed, tutu friendly gelato is in order!
