It's Wednesday, which means it's time for a new blog post from your favourite pink tutu-wearing, travel-obsessed ballerina, Emma! This week, I'm sharing my latest adventures from the magical city of Rome!
Train travel to Rome
This week, I made the exciting journey to Rome from the charming city of Florence. Train travel, as you know, is my absolute favourite mode of transportation. It allows me to relax, observe the countryside, and catch up on all my reading. This time, I made sure to have a special pink tulle head scarf to match my travel outfit, a stunning pink floral print maxi dress, and of course, a pink tutu. You never know what incredible views might come along on your journey, so always be ready for a spontaneous photoshoot!
Rome - A City of Wonders
As soon as I arrived in Rome, I was overwhelmed by the city's energy. There's an intoxicating mix of history, culture, and modern energy in the air, and I felt instantly inspired! Rome is a city with a beautiful blend of the ancient and the modern. Ancient ruins and bustling squares sit side-by-side, giving the city a unique and captivating aura. I can’t wait to share with you everything about my adventures here!
An Afternoon in the Colosseum
Today, I had a delightful afternoon exploring the majestic Colosseum. Standing within its walls, I was transported back in time. It's so easy to imagine the crowds, the gladiators, the roar of the lions. I had the best photo shoot with the Colosseum, making sure to get the perfect shots of my pink tutu flowing in the breeze, and my perfectly posed ballerina feet. Pink, of course, stood out in contrast to the beautiful historic walls.
A Delightful Evening with Ballet at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma
Tonight, I was lucky enough to attend a ballet performance at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, where I saw the most beautiful production of Swan Lake. The costumes, the music, the graceful dancers – it was a truly enchanting evening.
The theater itself is breathtaking! Its intricate decor and grand architecture transport you back to a different era. This is how I like to see the classics. Rome offers some really incredible, authentic productions that truly move me as a dancer and an audience member.
Fashion Finds and a Sweet Treat
You can’t visit Rome without sampling the delectable Italian cuisine! Later this week, I plan on trying out the world-famous Roman pizza at Pizzeria Romana, and experiencing a truly decadent gelato from one of the city’s famous gelaterias. Of course, my love of fashion doesn’t stop at the train station or the opera. Rome has a very unique street style, so I’ll be taking in all the inspiration and finding some wonderful outfits and shoes for my new pink wardrobe!
